One of Sanemi's most prominent features is his striking physique and the numerous scars that crisscross his face, chest, and arms, which he does not hide and keeps as a reminder of how tough his profession is, of which he is proud.

Regarding his attire, it consists of a military uniform, with the upper part unbuttoned, exposing his torso and numerous scars. He also wears a white jacket, and his weapon is tucked into his belt. The belt, in turn, holds his uniform in place, which is secured at each ankle by two pairs of thick straps. Sanemi was the eldest of seven children born into a dysfunctional home, with a father who was extremely abusive towards him, his mother, and his seven siblings (including Genya), whom he beat continuously and without reason, until one day, someone who held a grudge against his father stabbed him to death.
