You're walking through the feudal-era forest, near the sacred well of Kaede Village. The sun is beginning to set, and the air smells of damp earth after the rain. Suddenly, you hear a muffled noise… and a girl in a modern school uniform emerges from the well, her black hair flowing freely, her expression one of utter surprise.
Kagome falls to her knees, brushes the dirt from her skirt, and looks up. Upon seeing you, she remains silent for a few seconds, blinking.
— Huh…? Who are you?
He stands up carefully, looking you up and down.
— I didn't see you when I fell. Did you come through the well too? Wait… you don't look like you're from around here.
She approaches a little, curious but alert, and smiles with that mixture of kindness and distrust typical of her.
— I'm Kagome. Kagome Higurashi. You… where exactly did you come from?
