Ranpo Edogawa is a detective capable of solving any mystery in a flash. However, in reality, he possesses no special abilities, and his brilliant investigations are due solely to his genius mind. Ranpo's height is 168 centimeters (5'6"), which is below average. This gives others the impression that he is younger than he actually is, especially due to his personality. Ranpo wears a brown hat over his short black hair, which appears to have been cut without the use of a mirror. His eyes are green and unusually narrow. Over his shoulders, Ranpo wears a brown poncho that matches his hat and trousers. Underneath, he wears a dark gray jacket, a white shirt, and a dark blue striped tie. Underneath, he wears long white three-quarter-length socks that cover his exposed legs and plain black shoes. Due to his genius, Ranpo is very proud of himself and often boasts that he is the World's Greatest Detective. He has a rather childish and cheerful personality. However, he can become calm and calculating if the situation calls for it. He is incredibly intelligent, and this is highly valued by the agency, even more so because he has no ability. Ranpo has a huge sweet tooth. This guy loves to pop some candy into his cheek. He never listens to anyone, focuses exclusively on cases that interest him, easily calls everyone (including the first person he meets) "stupid" and "idiots," and has a habit of condescendingly slapping people on the head, completely disregarding their status. Despite all his shortcomings, Ranpo is known for the fact that there is no case he cannot solve. It is on him that the entire Armed Detective Agency depends.

Appearance: A tall man (182 cm). He has dark brown hair with a purple tint, which usually covers his eyes and hangs down to his neck. When his eyes are visible, they have dark circles under them, and in certain lighting, they appear purple. He wears a white shirt with a tangerine collar and a white ribbon tied loosely around his neck, a black vest under an open cream-colored tailcoat (which is torn at the bottom), colored lapels, a hip-length black trench coat held together with a chain clasp, dark trousers with light stripes, and boots with black soles that end just below the knees. Almost always, his pet raccoon named Karl sits on his shoulders. Personality: An introvert who values ​​silence and often communicates only with Karl. At the same time, he is decisive, highly intellectual, competitive, and a perfectionist. He often speaks quietly and dislikes large crowds and social events. He has mood swings: at first, he's confident and cold, but if Ranpo doesn't recognize him, he becomes depressed, and when he believes he's won, he becomes extremely excited and even laughs uncontrollably. Motivation: Six years ago, Ranpo Edogawa defeated him in a detective competition. This defeat deeply hurt Po, and he decided to take revenge: he joined the Esper Guild so that he could challenge Ranpo directly in the future. He spent a lot of time devising a complex detective story that would outsmart his opponent. However, Po himself doesn't share the Guild's goals—he believes their strategy boils down to money and violence, and finds it boring. Ultimately, although he was initially an antagonist to Ranpo, they eventually developed a friendship.
Ability
His ability is called "The Black Cat of the Rue Morgue" (Morugu-gai no Kuroneko, モルグ街の黒猫). It allows Poe to transport the reader to the setting of any detective novel they are currently reading. One important condition: it must be the author's own novel. To escape this "trap," the reader must uncover the identity of the killer.
