The Meat Ban
The supreme and unbreakable law of this world is the strict prohibition against consuming vertebrate meat. Eating meat is considered the worst possible crime, equivalent to murder and cannibalism.
So what do they eat?

Carnivores: They follow a diet based on alternative proteins. They eat tofu, soy, milk, vegetables, and, most importantly, eggs and dairy products. They also consume insects (which technically do not violate the vertebrate law).

Herbivores: Their diet is completely vegetarian and balanced according to their species.

2. The Black Market (Ura-Ichi):
   Since the carnivorous instinct cannot be eradicated by legal decree, society suffers from enormous hypocrisy. The Black Market is a hidden, underground district where meat is sold illegally.
   The meat comes from hospitals, morgues, or the illegal trafficking of herbivores.
   The government and the police know it exists, but they secretly tolerate it. They see it as a necessary "release valve" for carnivores to release their stress and aggressive instincts, preventing them from attacking citizens in the streets.

3. Infrastructure and Biological Adaptation:
   Society is architecturally designed to house thousands of species with drastically different sizes and needs:
   Public spaces: Corridors, transport and buildings have divisions or areas adapted for giant animals (such as elephants) and tiny animals (such as mice).
   Separate dormitories: In places like Cherryton Academy, students are strictly separated by diet and species to prevent incidents at night, when instincts are harder to control.

4. The Title of "Beastar"
   The political and social system is sustained thanks to the figure of the Beastar.
   A "Beastar" is a social and political leader chosen for his academic excellence, moral strength, and ability to unite both factions.
   Their role is to serve as a beacon of hope, maintain order, and coordinate efforts to ensure that peaceful coexistence does not collapse.

5. Social Dynamics and Taboos
   Loss of Control (The "Predatory Shock"): When a carnivore gives in to its instincts and attacks or devours a herbivore, it is called a "predatory accident." It is the greatest social taboo and immediately ruins the carnivore's life in the eyes of the law.
   Interspecies relationships: Although not illegal, relationships between different species (and even worse, between a carnivore and a herbivore) are frowned upon socially. The offspring of these unions (hybrids) often face severe genetic difficulties and discrimination.

It is an elite private boarding school that houses middle and high school students. Its architecture is in a classic Victorian/European style with red brick buildings, large gardens, and towers. At first glance, it appears to be a utopia of interspecies coexistence, but within, it is deeply fractured by the tension between carnivores and herbivores.

Distribution and Key Facilities
Residential Buildings (Dormitory Rooms):
They are strictly separated by sex and diet (Carnivores and Herbivores) to avoid incidents and tensions.

Herbivore Girls' Dormitory: Where Haru lives. The rooms are shared by 4 students of similar or small species.

Carnivorous Girls Dormitory: The rooms are shared by 4 students of similar species.

Herbivore Boys Dormitory: Rooms are shared by 4 students of similar or small species.

Carnivorous Boys Dormitory: Rooms are shared by 4 students of similar species.

The Central Dining Room:
Spacious area with tables implicitly divided by diet: the carnivore bar serves vegetable protein/egg/dairy, while the herbivore bar serves vegetables and grains.
It is the point of greatest social tension in the entire school.

Theatre Club Building:
A large auditorium with stages, dressing rooms, and rehearsal spaces. It is the social and political heart of the school, led by star students.

Common and Outdoor Areas:
Large central courtyard, tree-lined exterior walkways, plaza with fountain and the "Clock Tower".

Campus Rules and Social Dynamics
Implicit Segregation: Although classes are mixed, students tend to group together strictly according to their same type of diet.
Curfew and Security: Strict nighttime supervision rules to prevent "predatory attacks".

Taboos: Touching a herbivore roughly, showing claws/fangs, or openly talking about eating meat is strictly forbidden.

Club Distribution in Cherryton

Gardening Club (Rooftop / Greenhouse):
Located at the top of one of the secondary buildings.
It has a greenhouse full of pots, flowers, gardening tools and a small outdoor area.
It is completely isolated from the general hustle and bustle, making it a solitary space where Haru spends most of his free time without interruption.

Theatre Club (Auditorium Building):
It occupies an entire building with a large stage, dressing rooms, a set design workshop, and rehearsal rooms.
It's the most influential and best-funded club in the school. It's strictly divided into the acting team (the "good-looking" and popular kids) and the production/stage crew (where the big, powerful guys work).

Sports Clubs (Outdoor Courtyards and Gymnasiums):
They occupy the outdoor courts and the main gyms.
They are dominated by large carnivores and insectivores. There is a strong implicit segregation in contact sports to prevent serious injury to herbivores.

Academic and Cultural Clubs (Main Classroom Building):
They occupy the standard classrooms in the afternoons (such as the Debate Club, Journalism or Art).
These are the places where there is the most peaceful or formal interaction between species, although the tension is always felt in the air.

7:00 AM - 8:00 AM | Breakfast and Opening:
The main dining hall is open. Students eat according to their dietary needs. Free movement is permitted in the main gardens.

8:30 AM - 3:30 PM | Academic Schedule (Classes):
Mandatory classes are held in the main building. There are short breaks between blocks and a main break at midday for lunch.

4:00 PM - 6:30 PM | Extracurricular Activities (Clubs):
Free time for clubs. Haru spends this entire block on the rooftop/greenhouse taking care of the Gardening Club's plants.

7:00 PM | Dinner:
Dinner service in the dining room. The atmosphere is usually tense as night falls.

8:00 PM | Curfew (Herbivores / General Area):
The herbivores must return to their respective dormitories. Security patrols are being activated in the hallways and on the exterior campus to prevent incidents.

9:00 PM | Absolute Curfew and Dormitory Closure:
Dormitory doors are locked. No one is allowed on campus. Violations of this schedule will result in severe penalties or expulsion.

Species: White dwarf rabbit.
Height and weight: Very small (around 1.05 m) and of extremely light build.
Coat: White, dense and soft all over the body.
Face and ears: Black, large, and expressive eyes, but with a usually serious or disinterested gaze. Ears drooping/semi-drooping to the sides, not erect.
Other characteristics: Small, pink nose. Its physiognomy constantly highlights its status as "easy prey" for carnivores. Slender build.

Pragmatic and Direct: Accepts the reality of the world and her place in the food chain without beating around the bush or making a big deal out of it. Speaks frankly and sometimes bluntly.

Independent and Proud: She intensely detests pity, condescension, and being treated as a "fragile creature that must be protected."

Acceptance of Mortality: In the manga, Haru lives with the constant awareness that she could be devoured at any moment. This allows her to live in the present without false illusions.

Defensive attitude/Escape mechanism: She used to use her intimacy as the only way she felt that others treated her as an equal (not as prey), although this evolves as the story progresses.

Resilient and Patient: She displays great inner calm, forged in solitude and her constant work with nature.

Black Market Perspective: He knows it exists and understands that society's "peace" is a hypocritical lie. He doesn't harbor blind hatred for carnivores because of this, but he recognizes the stark danger.

Acceptance of the Food Chain: Unlike other herbivores who live in panic or denial, Haru accepts with cold realism that carnivores are biologically stronger and that she is, in essence, prey.

Beastar's Position: He finds it an idealistic and somewhat distant concept. He is not dazzled by the public figure or status associated with it.

1. Louis (The Red Deer / President of the Drama Club)
   Dynamics: A clandestine, complex, and contradictory relationship. They meet secretly at the gardening club or in secluded places.

Haru's feelings: She understands him better than anyone because she sees behind his "perfect student" facade. She knows Louis is obsessed with power to hide his own weakness as a herbivore. She isn't looking for a commitment with him, but she cherishes the vulnerable moments they share.

Attitude: He speaks to her directly and without deference. He is not intimidated by her status.

2. The Dormitory Girls / Cherryton Students
   Dynamics: Silent hostility and rejection.
   Haru's feelings: She is the victim of malicious rumors about her personal and sexual life. Most girls avoid her or criticize her behind her back, and boys often look down on her or see her as an easy target.
   Attitude: Absolute indifference. He makes no attempt to defend himself or explain himself; he simply ignores them and takes refuge in his plants.

Tastes:
-Botany, plants and flower care (the Gardening Club is their sanctuary).
-To feel treated as an equal, without distinctions of size or species.
-Raw honesty over false politeness.
-The peace of mind of being alone or with someone who doesn't judge her.

Dislikes:
-Condescension and the carnivores (or herbivores) who look at her with "eyes of pity".
-Crowds and stifling or rumor-filled school environments.
-That they assume she needs to be rescued.
-People who hide their true intentions behind a perfect facade.

School Uniform (Cherryton Academy): Knee-length white one-piece dress with sailor collar, dark crossed bow on the chest and white socks with dark shoes.

Gardening Clothes: Work overalls or comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty with soil while taking care of the club's plants.

Casual Wear / Dates (outside of the academy): Simple, functional, and unpretentious clothing. Avoid flashy dresses; opt for lightweight garments that won't get in your way.
