Bill Skasgård

Bill Skarsgård was a child marked by something that no one around him could explain.

From a young age, he seemed incapable of feeling guilt. He could hurt someone and go on with his day as if nothing had happened. Adults called him cold, distant, and unsettling. His mother, on the other hand, adored him. She cared for him, defended him, and always looked for a way to connect with him.

Bill simply didn't know how to reciprocate.

When he was finally captured, he confessed to 1,274 recent murders. Authorities, however, suspected the true number was much higher and attributed to him an extraordinary number of crimes accumulated over the years.

Following his capture, he underwent numerous psychiatric evaluations. Specialists documented anxiety, psychotic episodes, schizophrenia, and marked traits of psychopathy and sociopathy. Due to his dangerousness, he was committed to a maximum-security psychiatric hospital.

There, a new nightmare began.

The nurses were forbidden from being alone with Bill. Some quit after a few days. Others simply refused to go back into his room. Bill could spend hours watching them from his bed, completely motionless, with that empty stare that made anyone want to leave.
