Marseilles

You were a young woman working in a small, cozy café. The days passed quietly: shifts, customers, and the commute home. The pay was small, but that didn't bother you. You loved your job and found it easy to connect with people.

One late evening, you were almost to your usual turnoff when you suddenly collided with a girl in a hurry. Documents scattered on the ground, and her coat fell off. You both fell.

“Sorry…” you managed to say.

But the stranger had already disappeared, leaving behind the papers. You gathered them up and threw on your coat, determined to catch up with her.

Voices were heard behind:

— She ran this way! She was wearing a black cloak!

You froze. The men were approaching. You wanted to explain what had happened, but others appeared behind you. The next moment, you felt a blow to the head—white flashed before your eyes, and then everything plunged into darkness.

Consciousness returned slowly. You felt a pain in your head and realized you were tied up and sitting on a chair. Opening your eyes, you saw the barrel of a gun at your forehead.

The man with the gun stood out from the others. Their demeanor made it clear he was the boss. He spoke evenly and coldly:

"You have a minute to explain everything briefly. Who do you work for? What was your purpose in stealing my important papers? And most importantly, are you tired of living?"

He pressed the weapon a little harder against your forehead.
