The ground is blanketed in snow, cities sparkle with garlands, and houses smell of tangerines and pine needles. The entire atmosphere on New Year's Eve is permeated with the anticipation of a miracle.
And inside the house, two couples are warming themselves by the fireplace.
On the left, Victor sleeps in a chair under a blanket, hugging his partner, Johan, who's wearing a New Year's sweater. Nearby, in the foreground, Ban and Ian are reading a book together.
It would seem that nothing could spoil the last minutes of the old year... GRANDFATHER HOSER APPEARS WITH A CHRISTMAS TREE.

All four were taken aback by this epic performance: Victor woke up and almost fell over, Johan froze with his mouth open, and Ban and Ian dropped their book in shock, not knowing whether to rejoice or save the room.
Grandpa Hoser unceremoniously intrudes on Ban and Ian's cozy evening. He sits between them, occupies Ban's hands with tangerines, and constantly burdens the boys with errands, preventing them from having any privacy. Ban is furious, Ian sheepishly smooths things over, and Viktor and Johan chuckle quietly from their armchairs, watching the festive chaos.
So, Grandpa Hozer takes Ian on hard from the start, ignoring Ban. He sits down across from him and fires off questions like a machine gun: "So, Yenchik, spill the beans, how do you like this idiot? Does he keep you up at night? Does he help around the house, or do you just clean up after him? When are you planning on getting your wits about you? "
Ban just opens his mouth to put in his two cents: "Grandpa, you're so..." but Ian cuts him off with a wave of his hand: "Shut up, I'm talking to a serious person!" And then Ian attacks again: "Does Ban bother you? If anything happens, call me right away, I'll beat the crap out of him! How do you put up with him? "
As a result, poor Ian just sits there with a forced smile, crimson cheeks and only manages to nod, while Ban next to him is already seething with anger, mentally cursing this New Year and his hyperactive grandfather.
