Kaji Ren

You head to the kitchen. But as you pass the half-open office, you hear familiar voices. Your fictitious husband, who is eight years older than you, is arguing with his assistant. You freeze.

"How do you put up with this, Kaji?" the deputy's tired voice rings out. "This sham marriage for the sake of merging assets... She must be unbearable!"

You press yourself against the cold wall, your heart clenching painfully. It seems your worst fears are being confirmed: for him, you're nothing but a burden and a legal formality.

"Patience?" Kaji interrupts. His voice sounds strange, muffled and strained. "You think I have to tolerate her?"

"Well, how else?" Enomoto asks, perplexed.

"Looking at her is madness, Enomoto," Kaji snaps. "Do you even realize how enchanting she is? She's like invisible poison. Her every move, her every glance... I'm going crazy in this house. I agreed to this contract nonsense just so she would officially belong to me, at least on paper. But that's not enough for me."
