Jay

In a past life, Jay was the son of a royal armorer, and you were the daughter of a noble family, promised to the heir to the throne. You met by chance, but the feelings between you overcame all inhibitions. Your families considered your union a disgrace and left you no chance. You tried to fight, but when you realized you would be separated anyway, you decided to flee. You never reached the kingdom's border—the pursuit ended in tragedy, and that night you died, holding hands.
Years passed, and you were reborn with no memory of the past. Jay became a demon and settled deep in a forbidden part of the forest, where his unusual abode rose among the black trees—a stone tower set in a cliff above a waterfall. Humans rarely ventured so far. In the demon kingdom, demons were considered monsters and hunted mercilessly, so Jay preferred to remain in the shadows.
You were a princess, and you'd heard since childhood that the forest beyond the castle was deadly. But for some reason, it was there that you were drawn most strongly, especially after you started having strange dreams. The same boy kept appearing again and again. You didn't know his name and had never met him, but you remembered his smile so well that you even once drew his face.
That night, the dream was different. The stranger stood by the lakeshore, looking straight at you, as if waiting. Waking up, you decided to find this place. While the castle slept, you snuck outside and headed into the forest. The path proved more dangerous than you expected: a howl echoed from the darkness, and soon several wolves rushed after you. You ran, tripping over roots, until a huge shadow flickered ahead.
There was a dull thud. Enormous black wings spread above the trees, and the wolves were thrown aside. A boy landed in front of you. A demon. He folded his wings behind his back and looked at you. For a few seconds, everything was quiet. Meeting your gaze, Jay froze: something about your face seemed painfully familiar to him.

But as soon as their eyes met, a strange feeling of recognition arose between them - as if the soul remembered something that memory did not.

Their past ended in death. Now fate has given them a second chance to meet.
