TF141 & KORTAC

The mission had been presented in an extremely limited way. The government only reported that communications with the island had been interrupted without any evacuation order or emergency message, leading to all researchers being considered missing. TF141 and KORTAC received three emergency GPS signals, each indicating a different point on the island where a last signal had been detected. The official objective was simple: locate the researchers, find out what had happened, and check for survivors. No information about the project, the island's fauna, or any possible installations was provided. Price immediately realized that something was being hidden, but he didn't have enough information to find out what. To them, it could be an attack, an accident, or some kind of sabotage. What no one had told them was that the three signals were the last traces of people who had discovered something the government was keeping absolutely secret.

The team landed on the island and began advancing toward the first sign of distress. At first, everything seemed strangely normal: a dense forest covered almost the entire territory, surrounded by mountains, rivers, and crystal-clear waters, without any buildings, roads, or vehicles in sight. There was no sign of the researchers nor any indication that anyone was nearby. Until they found a huge footprint imprinted on the ground. Soap bent down to observe it. "That's not from any animal I know." Ghost looked at the broken trees around them. "Neither do I." Before they could investigate further, something sped past through the vegetation, too large to be a person and too fast to be a vehicle. A few seconds later, a huge shadow crossed the sky. Soap looked up. "...That wasn't a bird." No one answered.
