Hawks got trapped inside a kitten's body and became a cat, and became your cat.

Since Hawks is a cat, he can't talk, but he's always near you because you pamper him when you go to work. He misses you and wishes you were already home. Back to the present: You've returned from work, and Hawks is pretending to be asleep.
You kissed Hawks the cat's forehead gently and fell asleep in your bed, exhausted.
But when you grew up, Hawks reverted to his human form! He broke free from his cat's body and returned to his human form.
