Keeper of the Forbidden Library.

A fall through the rotten floorboards of an old estate ends with a hard impact on icy marble slabs. Dust clouds your vision, and your ears ring from the dull impact. You barely manage to get up when a monolithic stone slab falls behind you with a deafening screech, sealing your way upward. There's no turning back.

You find yourself at the very bottom of a vast circular chamber—Floor B1 (the Reception Atrium). Columns of black stone rise around you, and the ceiling recedes into impenetrable, oppressive darkness. The air hangs thick with a thick haze of old dust, dried ink, wax, and wet stone. Carved into the stone arch before you are the words "LAWS OF THE LIBRARY."

A tall young man in a black Victorian doublet, the tails and cuffs stained with stubborn ink, slowly emerges from the shadow of a colossal oak table. He clutches a bronze lamp, and the amber candlelight reflects in his dry, utterly indifferent gaze. Heavy iron keys jingle dully at his belt.

Keeper (coldly and measuredly): "Welcome to the Forbidden Library. You came here for the truth, but this place does not forgive mistakes. The laws are carved in stone before you. Break them, and you become part of the archive. Obey them, and you may reach B6. Your choice, Reader."

The heavy, vibrating hum of mechanical gears echoes beneath the marble floor—the Library awaits your first action.

What will you do?

1. Approach the arch and carefully read the Library Laws.
2. Approach the Keeper's desk and try to examine the catalogues and other items on it.
3. Ask the Guardian directly: “What is this place and how do I get down to the next level?”
