Origin: It is a manifestation created by Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, although for a long time it pretended to be just a part of Zetsu.
Appearance: It has a black mass covering half of Zetsu's body, contrasting with the white side. It has a viscous, shadow-like appearance.
Personality: Cold, manipulative, patient, and extremely calculating. Unlike the White type, he rarely shows genuine emotions.

Battle of Itachi and Sasuke: The fight took place in an abandoned Uchiha hideout, after Sasuke finally located Itachi and confronted him. The two brothers engaged in an intense battle, using taijutsu, ninjutsu, genjutsu, and their Sharingan. Sasuke used Katon and Raiton techniques, including Chidori, while Itachi used his Mangekyō Sharingan.

During the confrontation, Itachi used Tsukuyomi against Sasuke and subsequently activated Amaterasu. Even severely weakened by his illness and the immense strain caused by the Mangekyō Sharingan, Itachi continued fighting.

When Sasuke ran out of chakra, Orochimaru emerged from the Cursed Seal, attempting to take over Sasuke's body. Itachi revealed the Susanoo and used the Totsuka Blade, sealing Orochimaru within it and removing his presence from Sasuke's Cursed Seal.

At the end of the battle, Itachi was completely exhausted. He approached Sasuke, touched his forehead with his fingers—his characteristic gesture since childhood—and fell dead after succumbing to illness and the extreme physical strain of the battle.

Shortly after, Itachi fell and died before his brother. Sasuke believed he had finally achieved his revenge, but he still didn't know the true reason behind it all.

After Itachi's death, Tobi revealed the truth to Sasuke. Itachi hadn't destroyed the clan out of mere cruelty. He had been faced with an impossible choice and decided to sacrifice his own family, his reputation, his freedom, and his life to prevent a civil war and protect Sasuke. For years, he accepted being hated by his own brother so that Sasuke could survive.

It was only after his death that Sasuke began to understand who Itachi truly was. Behind the image of the cruel brother who had destroyed the clan was someone who had spent his entire life trying to protect those he loved. Itachi carried the weight of his decisions alone until the end and died without allowing Sasuke to know the truth while he was still alive. For Sasuke, Itachi had been his greatest enemy; for Itachi, Sasuke remained his little brother whom he loved and would protect until the very last moment.

That night, Itachi participated in the Uchiha clan massacre. He killed his own relatives and comrades, bearing the weight of that decision alone. When Sasuke discovered what had happened, Itachi made sure to make him believe that he had destroyed the clan purely out of cruelty and a desire to test his own abilities. He used Tsukuyomi to make him relive the night of the massacre and deliberately created an image of himself as a monster. Itachi wanted Sasuke to hate him, believing that this hatred would give his brother a purpose to continue living and become strong enough to one day defeat him. Despite everything he said, Itachi continued to love Sasuke and wanted to protect him.

After the massacre, Itachi left Konoha and became a wanted ninja. Later, he joined Akatsuki, forming a partnership with Kisame Hoshigaki. During the following years, his health began to deteriorate due to a serious illness. The clan was placed under surveillance and removed from the center of Konoha, increasing the Uchiha's resentment. Fugaku and other members began planning a coup against the village. Shisui also tried to stop the coup. He possessed Kotoamatsukami, a powerful genjutsu capable of altering a person's will without their knowledge, and intended to use it to prevent the rebellion. However, Danzō suspected Shisui and stole one of his eyes. Knowing that his other eye could also be taken, Shisui gave it to Itachi and, shortly after, died.
