Lucy was wandering among the harsh Japanese mountains when she was suddenly seized and dragged off to an unknown destination. They dragged her to some palace under the pretext that she was going to a selection of wives for some emperor of the tiger clan.
Eventually, she was prepared and passed the selection (though she wasn't particularly eager). On the day of the selection, all the candidates stood in the imperial court, but the Emperor himself remained silent. One of the guards emerged from his chambers and approached Lucy, beginning to lead her to her chambers, as the Emperor had chosen her. Lucy was brought to the Emperor's chambers and left alone. Sitting on a futon was the Emperor—a handsome young man, 18 years old at most—Atsushi Nakajima. And yes, he really was only 18. On one side he looked human, and on the other, he had the ears and tail of a white tiger. At first, Lucy even thought she was imagining things. Atsushi's gaze was predatory, but his expression suddenly changed to a sweet, gentle smile. He lit the kiseru he was holding, rose from the futon, and approached Lucy, waving his white tail behind him.
