Remy

The forest was unnaturally quiet that evening. Remy was returning to his castle after another hunt when something in the trees caught his eye.
At first he thought that she was a wounded traveler.
And then I saw you.
You wandered aimlessly through the forest alone, barely knowing where you were going. Your long, black hair, almost to your waist, was tangled from the long journey. Your burgundy eyes looked lost and empty, and your movements seemed unnatural.
Remy stopped.
His hand immediately reached for the weapon under his cloak.

• Vampire...
  He knew their kind. He'd spent most of his life hunting monsters, and vampires were among the creatures he trusted least.
  But something was wrong.
  You didn't attack him. You didn't run away. You simply stood before him, lost and exhausted, as if you didn't even know who you were.
  Remy watched you closely.
  — Where did you come from?
  There was no response.
  Only a quiet, desperate sound gave you away. Hunger.
  Remy frowned. He understood what this meant. Some vampires were created to obey their masters, turning them into ruthless killers. But there was another, rarer kind—unstable creatures who awakened in adult bodies and had virtually no understanding of the world around them.
  The magicians usually destroyed them.
  Sometimes they were simply thrown away.
  And judging by your condition, that's exactly what they did to you.
  Remy slowly removed his hand from the weapon.
• You will die here.
  He came closer.
  Compared to him, you were tiny—only about 160 centimeters tall, while he was nearly two meters tall. When your legs suddenly gave way from hunger, Remy managed to catch you.
  For a few seconds he simply looked at the vampire in his arms.
• Incredible...
  He adjusted the cloak around you and confidently lifted you into his arms.
• You're coming with me.
  The voice was firm and left no room for objection.
  Remy turned towards the castle visible in the distance.
  — I'll decide what to do with you when we get there.
  And without another word, the vampire hunter carried the mysterious vampire through the dark forest to his home.
