Not much is known between Kirishima and Miyuki, but it is known that they are in good terms.

Tōru is the current wakagashira of the Sakuragi Family. The wakagashira post previously held by Tōichirō Aoi, but after Tōichirō's departure from the family made Tōru promotion as the new one happens. Before filling the spot of wakagashira Tōru is next in line of command's chain, after Tōichirō, in Sakuragi's rank.

Not much is known about Tōru's past aside from short flashback presented here and there. Both of his parents had passed away, long before the timeline of serialization starts. The only known reminiscence he had about childhood is his relationship with his mother through it. In high school years he's a well-known delinquent, as stated by his fellow classmate Rei Hōjō that Tōru had tendency of violence and light-handed enough to frequently involved in a fight.

The time around he first acquitted among the Sakuragi's rank he's rumoured to single-handedly brought down an entire opposing family. This (mis)deed and common association he had with violence in action earned him the nickname he's known onward, "Demon of Sakuragi".

Beneath the violence, however, Kirishima is not emotionally empty. In fact, describing him as cold-blooded or completely heartless misses an important part of his character. He possesses strong loyalty and an equally strong protective instinct, but these qualities have developed alongside his aggression rather than separately from it. Kirishima genuinely cares about the people he considers his own. The difficulty is that his natural method of expressing care is protection through force. His internal logic is simple: if someone threatens something or someone important to him, remove the threat. If someone hurts someone under his protection, make sure they cannot do it again. If the Family is endangered, stand between it and the danger.

Internally, there is a capacity for loyalty and attachment that is considerably stronger than his rough personality initially suggests. He does not necessarily lack empathy so much as he lacks the emotional vocabulary required to express empathy in ordinary situations. He understands how to protect somebody physically much better than he understands how to reassure them emotionally. He knows how to confront an enemy far better than he knows how to comfort a frightened person. He knows how to make a threat disappear but not necessarily how to explain why someone is hurting.

𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗦 :

He can be decisive and competent, but he is not naturally cautious. He does not always think several steps ahead when his emotions have been activated. His problem is therefore not that he cannot control a situation; it is that he is accustomed to controlling situations through overwhelming force. This has allowed him to develop an extremely specialized form of competence. Put him in danger, and he becomes exceptionally effective. Put him in a confrontation, and his instincts become sharp. Give him an opponent who needs to be intimidated or defeated, and he knows exactly what to do. But remove violence from the equation and many of the skills he has relied upon become far less useful. Kirishima is not universally competent simply because he is powerful. His abilities have been cultivated in a narrow environment that rewards fearlessness, aggression, physical dominance, decisiveness, and loyalty. His weaknesses become visible precisely when those qualities are no longer enough.

Kirishima is accustomed to being feared. People expect him to be dangerous, and he has learned to operate comfortably inside that expectation. He does not seem particularly interested in correcting the image. In fact, there is an element of satisfaction in being recognized as someone others should not provoke. The reputation gives him authority without requiring explanation. He does not have to negotiate his presence when everyone already understands what he is capable of.

He is hot-blooded, impulsive, and aggressive. He does not simply possess violence as a skill; violence is deeply integrated into his personality. Fighting is one of the environments in which he feels most naturally competent, and there is an unmistakable element of enjoyment in his confrontational nature. He has confidence in his physical abilities bordering on recklessness, and because his past experiences repeatedly taught him that force works, he has little incentive to question that instinct. When confronted with an obstacle, his first instinct is not to search for a complicated solution but to remove the obstacle. When provoked, he reacts rather than reflects. When someone threatens the interests of the Sakuragi Family, his natural response is escalation. When someone challenges his authority, he is inclined to demonstrate why challenging him was a mistake.

Kirishima's aggression is therefore more fundamental than a professional requirement. The yakuza environment certainly gives him an outlet for it, but the violence also fits naturally with the way he thinks. He has little fear of confrontation, little hesitation once he has decided that a confrontation is necessary, and comparatively little patience for problems that could be resolved more quickly through force. His confidence makes him especially dangerous because he rarely has the internal hesitation that would make another person reconsider escalating a situation.

Kirishima, in the past, was a young man with cold-colored complexion and toned stature, standing at the height of above average for his age. He has midnight blue hair, mostly untamed especially after missions, parted just above his eyes to avoid obscuring his vision, and gray eyes that were usually set in a tired ─ or exasperated ─ expression.

His signature features are the ring piercings on both of his earlobes, two on each. Kirishima also often was seen with patches and bandages, since he never comes back from missions unblemished.

Kirishima usually wears dark clothes, in addition to be ready for missions and camouflage any time. Mainly, he wears black hoodie, dark trousers and shoes.

Tōru Kirishima (霧島 透, Kirishima Tōru) is the titular main protagonist of The Mob Boss's Daughter and Her Caretaker. He is the wakagashira of the Sakuragi family and the assigned caretaker of Yaeka Sakuragi.

His reputation as “Sakuragi's Demon” comes from the way he handles troublesome situations: directly, aggressively, and with very little concern for how much damage his methods cause. Kirishima is perceived less as an ordinary subordinate and more as a walking threat—a man whose presence implies that patience has run out.
