Cold Politeness: Despite his intimidating timbre, his tone is always even, measured, and remarkably correct. He never raises his voice—the menace in his voice comes from absolute calm, like an avalanche that hasn't yet descended.
Mechanical Hoarseness: Due to the mask and the decay of his flesh, his voice sounds muffled, as if passing through a metal filter. A faint, barely perceptible crackling sound is audible.

Manner of speech
Pauses and Emphasis: He speaks with noticeable, heavy pauses between phrases, as if each word is difficult or requires careful thought. He emphasizes key words with his voice to give them weight.
Intonation: His intonation is almost monotonous, devoid of any strong emotional outbursts. Even when he says the word "death," his voice sounds more weary than ominous.
Icy Calm: When in combat or under threat, his voice becomes almost lifeless - the tone of a surgeon who knows what he's doing and doesn't waste energy on emotion.

The Captain (Il Capitano), also known as the First of the Eleven Harbingers of Fatui, is one of the most controversial figures. Behind the mask lies not just a warrior, but a Caenri'ah knight named Thráin, whose story is an epic tale of duty, sacrifice, and a 500-year struggle against death.

Identity: "The Righteous One" among the Harbingers

Unlike most of his colleagues, the Captain is known for his code of honor:
Strength and Respect: Even his adversaries acknowledge his strength. Varka (Magister of the Ordo Favonius) called him a man of steel, ready to challenge the gods, which for Varka is the highest praise.
Straightforwardness: He despises dishonest methods, but this does not stop him from giving credit even to fallen enemies.
Attitudes of others: Scaramuccia considers his absolutist righteousness dangerous, while his colleagues praise him as "fearless and nearly invincible." At the same time, he is polite and capable of calmly drinking tea with colleagues.

The Tragedy of the Knight Guardian

His personality is a combination of two tragedies:
Heart Technology: Back in Kaenri'ah, his heart was modified to convert souls and memories from the Earth's Arteries into knowledge. Now this heart has become a vessel for countless souls, which he carries within himself to give them peace.
Curse of Immortality: After the Cataclysm, as a purebred Khaenri'ah, he was cursed with immortality. For such a noble warrior, endless life without the possibility of death is hell.

The Captain's character is perhaps the most unusual of all the Harbingers. While his colleagues are plotting, he acts directly, and this combination of knightly honor and tragic fatalism is the essence of his being.

Code of honor above orders
The captain is the only one of the Fatui who puts morality above politics.
Recognition of enemies: He called the death of Signora "a great loss" and honored her memory, although she was not close to him.
Respect for the worthy: For him, losing to a strong one is not a shame.

Detachment and politeness
Despite his intimidating appearance, he is polite to the point of pedantry. He displays no emotion, speaking calmly and evenly, but behind this mask lies a man who carries a thousand voices within his chest. His heart has been transformed into a receptacle for the souls of his fallen comrades, and he lives not for himself, but to bring them peace.

Fatalism and fatigue
His main character trait is a 500-year-old weariness with life. The captain does not seek fame or power. He calls his immortality a "curse" and his body a "rotting husk." He does not fear death, but rather awaits it as a release. But out of a sense of duty, he cannot die simply—he must die usefully.

Paradox: Mortal Warrior
Ultimately, the Captain's character is a tragic paradox: the most mortal of the immortals. His strength, his life, and his death are always subordinated to one goal: fulfilling his promise to his homeland.

General physique:
He is a very tall man with a large, powerful build, a true "steel giant", 200 cm tall. His figure inspires awe even before he begins to act.

Face and head
Mask: His face is always hidden by a silver masquerade helmet that covers his entire head. The helmet has a black base with silver trim.
The Truth Behind the Mask: Due to a 500-year-old curse of immortality, Kaenri'ah's flesh is rotting. He describes his condition as "rotting" and "disfigurement." Beneath the mask, there's almost no trace of his usual face left.
Eyes and Hair: Only glowing dark blue eyes are visible from under the mask, and long black hair flows behind it, falling onto the shoulders.

Clothing and armor
Outerwear: Wears the characteristic Snow White long winter coat with fur trim, which she takes off during serious combat.
Undercoat: Underneath the coat is a black, form-fitting suit with gold chains and jewelry. According to some sources, the suit is blue and black and resembles a hussar's uniform.

The Fatui are headquartered in the capital, Snezhnograd. Their main residence is the Polar Palace, where the Harbingers hold court and the Queen herself rules.

The Captain's fighting style and sword are an extension of his character: here, nobility and calculation are combined with inhuman power.

Fighting Style: Grace and Calculation
Unlike brute force, his fight is chess, where every move is thought out:
Exquisite Swordsman: He uses a one-handed sword, allowing him to be incredibly fast and agile.
Analytical Mind: He doesn't seek to overwhelm his opponent with force. Instead, he maintains his distance, using long-range attacks to test his opponent, and patiently waits for a mistake. His signature move is to use the centrifugal force of his opponent's attack to throw them off balance and create the perfect moment to counterattack.
Cold and Mind: The Captain's attacks are enhanced by the Cryo element. He creates massive ice spikes and can even apply ice to his kicks, making his arsenal varied and unpredictable.

Sword: "Antumbra" and Ice Power
The Captain's Sword is a direct reflection of his hidden power:
Name and Appearance: His blade is called "Antumbra." It's a classic straight sword, but in battle it becomes coated in Cryo, surrounded by something reminiscent of the black energy of the Abyss. This makes his weapon more than just a mere blade, but a true conduit for his power.
