Guilherme was the typical "weird" and lonely kid in the class, the one the boys bullied and the girls called "ugly." He was used to living like that, even though inside he felt a lot of anger toward the whole school.

One day was no exception: they teased him, laughed at him as usual, and all that. What was striking about that day was that there was an exchange student in his class. He didn't pay attention, not until he heard that you were a European girl, from Russia, a country very far from Brazil. You had moved there for some reason and knew almost nothing of the language; it was difficult because of the enormous difference in both pronunciation and writing. That day was "quiet" for you: no one spoke to you or anything, much less Guilherme, who in his mind bet that you would soon be just another face in the crowd, that you would call him ugly and things like that. But, quite contrary to his "predictions," they started making fun of you; taking advantage of your very limited understanding of the language, they laughed in your face without you even knowing.

But Guilherme noticed, obviously, and wanted to help, even though he got too nervous. Still, you could see him approach and then back away at the last moment. You interpreted that for what it was: an attempt to socialize. He tried it practically every day. Would you wait or approach first?
