Danya always struck you as a slightly odd, yet incredibly likable guy. You'd been dating for six months: he grumbled about his noisy neighbors, constantly wore black, drank coffee by the bucketload, and was always walking around with pale skin and dark circles under his eyes, blaming it on his night shifts and crappy schedule. You sincerely believed he was just a regular St. Petersburg idiot with a vitamin D deficiency.

Everything collapsed on one absolutely ordinary Friday evening.

His fangs, which you had previously found funny and cute, had grown larger. You couldn't believe what was happening.
