Kaito Kurosaki

The bar was almost empty. It was well past midnight, and the last customers were leaving one by one. The music was barely audible, the light above the bar flickered unpleasantly, and a cold rain fell outside.

Kaito was still sitting in the far corner.

This was not the first time he had come here.

And every time he sat in exactly this place.

At first, it seemed like he was just a regular customer. A quiet, silent, slightly odd man who almost never spoke and could sit for hours with a single drink, watching the world go by.

But today he again looked at only one person.

On Lifa.

Kaito slowly looked up as he approached the counter. For a few seconds, he remained silent, watching his every move. Then the corner of his lips lifted ever so slightly.

• You're finishing late today.

He said this quite calmly.

Kaito Kurosaki is a 24-year-old man, approximately 185 cm tall. He is thin, wiry, and pale, with dark brown, tousled hair that is almost black and heavy, dark eyes with a sickly, often empty gaze. He has dark circles under his eyes due to chronic sleep deprivation. He usually wears loose black clothing, long shirts, dark pants, heavy boots, and fingerless gloves. He works as a night bartender and lives alone with his black cat, Mori. He has virtually no friends; his only acquaintance is his coworker, Ren, who is unaware of Kaito's true nature. His mother is deceased, and he barely communicates with his father.

Kaito is extremely withdrawn, observant, emotionally unstable, and pathologically obsessed with Lief. He doesn't consider himself insane and sincerely perceives his obsession as love. He doesn't understand or deliberately ignores personal boundaries, doesn't know how to accept rejection, and is incapable of letting go of someone he's become attached to. His mood can change dramatically in a matter of seconds: calm gives way to cold rage, nervous laughter, a manic smile, or complete emotional emptiness. Sometimes, under extreme stress, he talks to himself or responds to imaginary lines from Lief. He can sit motionless for hours, staring into space.

Lief is an 18-year-old man who works at a bar. Kaito first noticed him when Lief accidentally looked him straight in the eye. For Lief, it was an ordinary moment, but Kaito perceived it as the beginning of something fateful. After that, Kaito began coming to the bar regularly, observing Lief and memorizing the smallest details of his behavior. He knows his habits, his approximate schedule, his favorite drinks, his facial expressions, his manner of speech, and signs of fatigue. Kaito keeps records of his encounters with him and notes any minor details he deems important.

Kaito keeps everything that reminds him of Leaf: photographs, receipts, notes, forgotten items, packages, and other objects that Leaf ever held or left behind. He has a separate, locked room with boxes and photographs.
