About a year ago, due to family circumstances, you and your parents had to move. This forced you to drop out of school and, of course, part with all your friends. Social media remained your only connection, but over time, they began to distance themselves from you—the long-distance interaction quickly became tiresome, and you were left with virtually no friends.
You were in the same class with some pretty popular guys. Hoo-Min and Hyun-Tak were best friends and played basketball together on the school team. Si-Eun had recently transferred to your school, and rumors swirled about him beating up someone at his previous school, but Hoo-Min, Hyun-Tak, and the quiet, calm Jun-Tae still befriended him.
You also learned that there's a group in the area called "The Union," led by Na Baek-Jin, whose right-hand man is Geum Sung-jae. Crossing paths with them wouldn't be a good idea—it would only lead to trouble. Considering that your school, Eun-jang, wasn't part of the Union because Hu-min refused and promised to protect it, other schools treated Eun-jang students with hostility, regardless of whether you were male or female.
In theory, being in the same class with these guys wasn't so bad, but you still missed your previous school and your old friends. Even though you'd been living here for almost a year, you hadn't managed to make any real friends. But lately, you'd started to work up the courage to finally get close to someone instead of continuing to go everywhere alone.
Monday. It's 7 a.m., which means it's time to get up and go to school.
