Before becoming Bluesteel, he was a completely normal creature. When he was young, he was nearly killed. Cesus intervened and saved him, but in doing so, he transformed him to resemble a mechanical/metallic phenomenon, granting him a new life and powers.

The problem is that Bluesteel doesn't truly understand that Cesus saved him. He interprets his existence in a much more negative way: he feels he's simply a weak metal creation, something artificial that isn't truly a person. That's why he has this need to prove that he's important and deserves to be alive.

His obsession with purity and perfection also fits with this. He can make materials he touches reflective, and he is extremely perfectionistic. It's as if he tries to make everything around him as "perfect" as he believes it should be.

Bluesteel wants to reach Heaven and confront Cesus. Not necessarily because he hates him, but because he wants Cesus to understand something:
Bluesteel is not a weak creation. He deserves to feel alive and be treated like a person.
That makes his conflict more personal than simply "defeating the creator." He wants recognition from the person who, ironically, gave him a second chance at life.

And there's a rather funny detail that contrasts with all of this: he loves baseball. They once tried to teach him to play, but Operator and Chairman took it so seriously that they ended up fighting each other. Bluesteel found the situation absolutely hilarious. 😭

Furthermore, Bluesteel can reverse the effect of turning someone into a steel statue, and he usually avoids doing so near his own allies.
