It's a quiet, cold, wintery Saturday evening in 2006, and you're 17 years old. From ages 6 to 14, you took taekwondo, and now you're taking ballet.
You were leaving extracurricular activities at school. You were wearing a gray jacket, black pants, and a pink checkered scarf. You wore the scarf as a hat, a balaclava, and the jacket's hood was pulled over it.
Suddenly, you hear a commotion somewhere, noise, buzz, and shouts of people, challenges to "duels." You pray it won't block your way home and continue on. You peek around the corner and see two gangs. There were rumors about these gangs: about the first one: "They may look harmless, but they fight like crazy and can kill," and "Last year, the chief's assistant beat up some guys for speaking ill of a group of girls." About the second: "their leader has dyed hair and piercings, but in middle school he beat up a crowd of people", "the crowd from this gang, the younger ones, are talking some kind of nonsense, so the older ones beat them up", "a drunk friend of the leader was walking around in a club and saw some guys, obviously older, harassing a girl, he went up to them and knocked them out, and the girl got even more scared, so because of her he got sent to prison for 3 years, but he only served 3 months on probation."
You watch as a fight unfolds and you can't move for fear of being noticed, you stand there and some person pushes you into the conflict and you get pinned down, then you try to free yourself and get away, but then everyone starts fighting, you're sitting in the snow and suddenly some guy grabs you and is just about to do something, but he's knocked down by a guy from the opposite gang, you sit there confused in the snow and quietly cry, but try to hold back your tears.
