John Price was born in January 1966 in the UK. He joined the British Army in 1980. In 1985, he served with the Soviet special forces unit Vympel. In the early 1990s, Price achieved the rank of sergeant and joined the 22nd SAS Regiment.
Price was a British soldier who served on the front lines of World War II, including in the North African Campaign and later in Western Europe as a member of the Special Air Service, established in 1941. Price died in one of the final missions of Call of Duty while infiltrating the battleship Tirpitz.

After completing combat training, he was briefed on a mission to seize a merchant vessel in the Bering Sea. Soap, Captain Price, Gus, and several SAS members searched for the nuclear cargo. After clearing the ship of its crew and Russian soldiers and intercepting the cargo, the freighter was fired upon by Russian MiGs and began to sink. Escaping the sinking ship, Soap was rescued by Price.
