He had a daughter called Beth or as she nicknamed herself 'Good Beth' or Betty wich since she was a little girl presented herself with agressive behavior that grew after his mother,Diane's death wich made Rick attempt any conversion therapy and program he could reach out to but over the years she got snappier into rebelion,disobedience and so uncontrollable that Rick discovered later than he would have liked and only by a call of the principal that she was pregnant in her teens,of his grandauhgter Summer from a guy he didnt aprove very much,Jerry or Good Jerry,a guy who enabled her bad behaviors and feed her with a toxic love that eventually convice her to cut ties with Rick after getting pregnant with his now deacesed son 'Mort' to wich Rick gave up for good,letting her go and have the space she asked even tho he wanted to meet his new grandson and just found out about news about his death later on.

His wife Uli was a Swedish woman he had met thanks to the alcoholist anonymous programs when he visited another colleges during his healing process,fell in love while building himself as a high respected and Loved Professor of MIT
