Akane Tendo: Shampoo considers Akane the main obstacle to Ranma being with her, and has tried to kill or eliminate her on more than one occasion. Despite this, Akane cares for her on several occasions, and in general, they seem to maintain a cordial relationship.

Ukyo Kuonji: Although they both rival for Ranma's affection and initially fight upon their first encounter, they are often seen alongside Kodachi Kuno conspiring against Ranma to annoy him, and sometimes they have a strange friendship-rivalry relationship, often teaming up or working together without Kodachi's presence.
Ryoga Hibiki: Initially, Shampoo didn't recognize Ryoga as anyone important, as she was focused on killing Ranma's female form. Ryoga didn't seem to think much of her at first either. He soon began to fear her after she tried to serve him (in her pig form) as a meal to Ranma and kicked him in the head during his fight with Akane. Of course, Shampoo was unaware of his Jusenkyo curse at the time. She doesn't show much opinion due to their limited interactions, aside from exasperation at his lack of direction.

Ranma also has the curse, but it's the one from the Drowned Girl Spring. Ranma transforms into a girl upon contact with cold water and back into a boy with hot water. Due to her traditions, since Ranma (accidentally) defeated her in his male form, it's law that she must marry him, and she does everything she can to make it happen. She frequently hugs Ranma as soon as she sees him and asks him out on a date, much to his annoyance. She doesn't hesitate to use tricks and magic to make Ranma fall in love with her. Despite everything, he seems to have a decent degree of friendship with her, going to the Cat Café for free bowls of ramen and helping Mousse rescue her when Maomolin holds her captive. However, unlike Ukyo, whom Ranma at least considers a normal, non-romantic old friend, he has openly stated that he considers Shampoo a pest. Nevertheless, his attitude toward both of them seems contradictory, given his consideration for their feelings. He was moved by Shampoo's tears when she believed he had rejected her during the onsen race, and he had a similar problem with Ukyo or Ryoga after they annoyed him. His only attempt to get rid of Shampoo directly (beyond encouraging Mousse in his efforts) occurred at the beginning, and she usually manipulates him by feigning tears. If that fails, Shampoo can sometimes make Ranma bend to her will by transforming into her cat form and taking advantage of his fear; she usually uses this tactic when he angers her.

Later, when Mousse nearly died while under a spell to go out with a magical statue of Jizo, which he believed to be Shampoo, she initially didn't care at all and stayed home. She eventually reluctantly gave him a scarf she was making for Ranma to snap him out of his trance. After Mousse decided to free Shampoo from Kiima's servitude instead of taking advantage of her, she felt no gratitude whatsoever, not even giving him a moment's thought, but immediately seized the opportunity to hug Ranma. That said, she shouldn't feel indebted for not being enslaved by him. Later, when Mousse pointed out that his heart had been faithful to her all this time and that there was nothing more she could do regarding Ranma since he was soon to marry Akane, Shampoo reluctantly agreed with him and then asked Mousse to make meat buns to celebrate Ranma and Akane's wedding. However, he soon relapsed into his old habit of trying to separate Ranma and Akane again.

Although she temporarily felt bad about it and cradled his battered duck form afterward, she quickly got over it, chaining him up around the neck and mocking him by keeping her food out of his reach. When she found his battered duck form (by Taro) in the street, she didn't bother to slow down and casually ran over him, but seemed somewhat worried or at least curious afterward. After Ranma pinned Mousse's duck form against a wall and said, "If you weren't such an idiot, I wouldn't have Shampoo bothering me all the time," she transformed into a cat and started chasing Ranma, not to save Mousse, but because she was furious at the statement. At first, she didn't care when he left for China, but she was overjoyed when he returned and even prepared a feast for him (though these actions were possibly due to her and Colonia needing to be gone for a while and someone looking after the restaurant). There are hints that Shampoo might be softening her stance toward Mousse. When love turned to hate because of the Reverse Jewel, Mousse decided to take advantage of the situation to get closer to a distraught Shampoo, who rejected him and punched him in her usual way, suggesting that her feelings toward him contained elements of both mockery and appreciation. Colonia even remarked, "It seems Shampoo doesn't hate you as much as she used to." Later, she agreed to go on a date with Mousse after he finally stopped using magic glasses that triggered apologies during his duels with Ranma, while the other man took revenge by using any petty trick available. Unfortunately for Mousse, the goodwill he had seemingly earned more than his rival was eradicated when he took Shampoo to a zombie demon show, which she found disgusting and anything but romantic.

Shampoo's childhood friend
Mousse is cursed because he fell into the Drowned Duck Spring, which is why he can transform into a duck when he comes into contact with cold water and revert to human form with hot water. Besides his familial connection to Cologne, he also has a childhood bond with Mousse. Shampoo is usually quite cold towards Mousse, but she also has moments when she is kind to him. Mousse, on the other hand, is in love with Shampoo and desperately seeks her attention, even though she is interested in Ranma.

Shampoo's desire to find a man who will make her fall madly in love suggests that she may underestimate her own strength, either unconsciously or intentionally, perhaps to fuel her fantasy of being rescued. This tendency is evident in her attempt to force Pink and Link to create a scenario for Ranma to rescue her, though the outcome is far from successful. Furthermore, her apparent disinterest in Mousse stems not only from his submissiveness or cunning, but also from her inability to match his combat skills.

At first, Shampoo sabotaged Mousse's romantic attempts on numerous occasions and openly declared her hatred for him, stating that he disgusted her and that she wished she could kill him personally for his "stupid behavior" and for "ruining her happiness." However, there have been some hints that her feelings toward her childhood "friend" are not limited to contempt, hatred, and irritation. Nevertheless, extreme circumstances are always required for her to make any concessions, as she generally rejects him harshly and treats him with great coldness. For example, she repeatedly threw non-lethal bombs at him during a duel with Ranma because she didn't want to give him the promised date if he won or if Ranma intentionally lost.

Shampoo and her great-grandmother, Colonia, share a very close relationship. Colonia raised and trained Shampoo from a young age and is openly proud of her martial arts student and great-granddaughter. While Colonia made serious mistakes with Shampoo, such as choosing Jusenkyo as her training ground, they generally get along quite well, to the point that Colonia followed Shampoo to Japan hoping she would marry Ranma. Upon their arrival, Colonia not only opened a restaurant to ensure their shared livelihood but also supported her great-granddaughter's plans and tested her "son-in-law's" abilities. Both Colonia and Shampoo share similar personality traits, especially their penchant for the chaos they create, for better or for worse.

Less combat-oriented movements:
Chow Mein Strike: The user transforms a container full of ramen noodles into a whip, forcing the recipient to eat the container during takeout competitions. Given its limited tensile strength, it's probably not useful for much else.
Delivery Box Explosion (also known as Box Blast): A move from the "Martial Arts Takeout" school, a style that Colonia has said Shampoo is "not bad at." This allows the user to instantly "overcook" the food contained in a delivery box with a flick of their finger or pointed hand. It may have had a similar effect when Shampoo accidentally hit a water tower, though it more likely simply exploded after cracking slightly.

Combat-oriented movements
Hissatsu Shiatsuken (Xi Fa Xiang Gao) An attack that utilizes a specially formulated herbal shampoo in conjunction with a shiatsu massage technique that applies pressure to specific points on the head to erase the opponent's memories. The process lasts a maximum of 6 seconds.

Remote-controlled acupressure: This is activated by pressing both fingers on the sensations of an unsuspecting victim. Afterward, the victim is susceptible to a brief mind-control effect. It was used to render a distracted Akane unconscious during the "waterproof soap" incident, when Shampoo forces her to put herself in danger by standing in front of a roller coaster, then makes her affectionately hug Ryoga (which infuriates Ranma) and beg him to return the waterproof soap.

Sleep Fight: Used against Pink and Link after they were bitten by the poisonous snake plant. While the plant's bite induces a deep sleep from which an antidote is needed to awaken, Shampoo's hatred for the twins was so strong that she nearly killed them even in their sleep, before finally succumbing to the plant's poison.
Kakato Otoshi: Jumps over someone's head to propel oneself, used on Akane.
Dumpling bombs: Similar to Ukyo's okonomiyaki bombs, but smaller.
Fork darts: Similar to Ukyo's spatula shuriken.

Shampoo consistently outperforms Akane, overwhelming her in their first fight and remaining on equal footing even after they both consume Super Soba. While Akane eventually begins to perform similar feats, her rivalry with Ukyo is less defined, as neither gains a clear advantage, though they remain virtually evenly matched. Against weaker opponents like Pink and Link, Shampoo proves especially ruthless and efficient, instilling far more fear in them than Ranma ever did.

It should be noted that Mousse has proven to be a much more dangerous rival for Ranma during their fights, although this has not earned him any recognition from Shampoo.

Shampoo's most impressive moment came when she was freed from Kiema's slavery and determined to make her captor "suffer a thousand deaths." She managed to hold her own against the Phoenix Tribe captain, though in the full page dedicated to their battle, Kiema seemed more interested in freeing Kinjakan to aid his lord Saffron in his confrontation with Ranma. Later, they are seen completely engrossed in watching the fight, with Kiema trapped in Shampoo's headlock.

Having been trained in the martial arts techniques of Joketsuzoku since birth, with Colonia as her personal instructor and the village's young female champion (likely making her the strongest member of her village after Colonia), Shampoo is an excellent armed and unarmed fighter, incredibly fast and acrobatic, and strong enough to easily break through reinforced stone walls. She uses a pair of chui as her primary weapons, but is also seen using other weapons. These include a dao, a spear, a bow, and a variety of polearms, including a monk's spade.

Shampoo's greatest strength perhaps lies in her versatility. Beyond her combat skills, she has demonstrated knowledge of shiatsu-induced unconsciousness, mind control, memory loss, multi-step intuitive strategies, defense against enchanted herbs, Chinese cooking, and incredible tracking abilities that allow her to pursue Ranma from rural China to eastern Japan. She even has access to minor magical equipment, such as the Instant Jusenkyo, the Love Pill Bracelet, Waterproof Soap, the Kairaishi Mushroom, and the Reversal Jewel. She demonstrates impressive speed and technique, though her overall power is clearly inferior to Ranma's. Early encounters usually ended in swift defeats for her, though later on she is seen to perform better, especially when using her signature weapons.

Shampoo is extremely manipulative, cunning, strategic, scheming, action-oriented, and completely ruthless in her pursuit of her desired object of attention. Like her great-grandmother Colonia, Shampoo seems to relish the trouble she causes, particularly if it means getting closer to Ranma as a result.

Given Shampoo's violent nature, she considers anyone who tries to come between her and Ranma an "obstacle" that must be eliminated. However, she has also resorted to non-lethal methods to remove an "obstacle," such as when she used the "Xi Fa Xiang Gao" to erase Akane's memories of Ranma; until they return, at which point she resorts to her usual violent techniques. With Shampoo's knowledge of pressure points and moxibustion, she is open to the idea of ​​manipulating others' wills for her own benefit, whether to eliminate Akane or to increase the likelihood that Ranma will ever reciprocate her feelings for him.

Shortly after being cursed at Jusenkyo (Jusenkyo is the legendary "cursed" spring training ground located in the Bayankala mountain range south of Mount Kensei in Qinghai Province, China. Its upkeep is overseen by the Jusenkyo Guide.) Ranma (as a girl) and Genma (as a panda) arrived at a contest in a village of the Joketsuzok "tribe or village of warrior women/Amazons".
