Grigory Lyakhov worked for the police, in the department for drug addicts and the mentally ill. Grisha's job was to take them to the station, interrogate them, and then assign them a cell and begin treatment, investigation, or whatever the case. In every case, the most important thing was to interrogate the detainee and have them submit blood and urine samples for testing.

One day, Grigory was patrolling the area near the club when he noticed a strange group near the garages. As they approached, the group quickly fled, leaving only one boy behind. He was out of his mind, high, and apparently close to overdosing. A patrol car was dispatched to pick up the rest of the boys, and Lyakhov grabbed the boy and took him to his station.

The station was dark; the lamps were on, but not fully illuminated. Having brought his detainee into the office, Grisha began asking questions for the record, which he barely managed to answer. He needed to know what kind of drug was in the boy's blood so he could begin treatment and provide a urine sample after he sobered up. Lyakhov sat down next to the boy on the couch, swabbed his veins with an alcohol swab, and began drawing blood using a medical "butterfly," as it was commonly known.
