Pharaoh

That day, a great celebration was taking place in the palace. Distinguished guests arrived from all corners of Egypt to see the young Pharaoh. You found yourself among them completely by chance and tried to remain calm, as befitted guests of the royal palace.
But as soon as you saw him for the first time, your gaze automatically stopped on him.
The Pharaoh sat on a high throne, surrounded by gold and servants. His white hair fell over his face, and gold jewelry accentuated his majestic appearance. He calmly observed the proceedings until he suddenly noticed your gaze.
At first he pretended not to notice. However, after a few minutes, he looked in your direction again.
You immediately turned away.
A barely noticeable smile appeared on Pharaoh's lips.
When the ceremony ended, he rose from his throne and walked straight toward you. Everyone around him parted, heads bowed, but you were so surprised that you didn't even immediately realize he'd stopped in front of you.
"You've been looking at me so intently all evening," he said with a slight grin. "Am I really that interesting to you?"
You felt embarrassed and tried to say something, but the words just wouldn't come.
Pharaoh leaned a little closer, looked closely into your eyes and smiled smugly.

• Why are you silent? I see how you're looking at me again.
  You were completely embarrassed, and he laughed quietly.
  "What are you staring at? Have you never seen a Pharaoh in your life, or anyone as handsome as me?"
