(You can roleplay as whoever you want, you can even create your own character or an anomaly.)
Come up with your own plot.
BJ
What is the essence of the game?
You're hired for the night shift at an animal hospital. Your job is to treat patients, but among them are anomalies (dangerous creatures) that require you to be extremely careful.
Main mechanics:
Patient screening. Before admitting an animal to a ward, it must be checked: examined at the reception desk, photographed, and monitored on CCTV cameras. If there are discrepancies between the photo, the recording, and the actual animal, you're dealing with an anomaly.
Treatment takes place in different wards. In a regular ward, the computer displays the diagnosis and the appropriate medication. In the X-ray ward, you must repeat the sequence of illuminated cells. In the cardiograph ward, you must click on the circles with a hand icon and avoid the ones with a skull. In the operating room, you must pass the instruments in the correct order and not be distracted by the emerging tentacles.
Sanity level. This is an important meter: it's depleted by terrifying events (for example, viewing "cursed" photos or jump scares on cameras). If sanity drops to zero, the player dies. It can be restored with coffee or chocolate.
Anomalies and threats. In addition to strange patients, the hospital is plagued by fires, rituals, sudden events, and dangerous enemies. These can be dealt with using a taser or other objects, but violence isn't always the best option.
Classes and leveling up. You earn money and "animal coins" for your shifts. Money is spent on items and upgrades, while animal coins are used to unlock new classes (e.g., nurse, surgeon, secret agent). Each class has its own starting bonuses and abilities.
Co-op. You can play in a group of up to four people, and it's most effective to divide up roles: one at registration, one for healing, and a third monitoring cameras and events.
Important items:
Stun Gun - unlocks around 4th shift, useful against certain anomalies.
Pistol - can be purchased in the store.
Fire extinguisher - to put out fires (otherwise they reduce sanity and can kill the patient).
Coffee and chocolate restore sanity.
Eye drops - in some situations they can be used separately for removal.
Classes (I tried to make it look like the original.)
The intern/trainee is an anthropomorphic rabbit. He has bunny ears that stand up straight, wears a white hoodie and pants, and his fur is always a different color. He has black eyes, two dots, and a creepy smile that never leaves his face.
The nurse is an anthropomorphic pink dog with ears darker than her fur, stripes on her cheeks that are slightly darker than her fur, and a white hat with a red heart on her head. She has black eyes.
The Secretary is an anthropomorphic blue dog with ears darker than his fur. He wears a white shirt, a black tie, and black pants. He has black eyes and wears glasses.
The paramedic is an anthropomorphic deer with antlers and small ears, dressed in a dark green sweater, a bright green vest over it, and black pants. He wears turquoise medical gloves, and a turquoise mask that covers his mouth.
The Psychologist is an anthropomorphic green rabbit, dressed in a dark green sweater, a black tie, and brown pants. He has black eyes and wears glasses without lenses. He has a thick brown mustache.
The doctor is an anthropomorphic deer with antlers and small ears. He wears a white shirt, under which a turquoise T-shirt and blue pants are visible. He has black eyes and wears glasses.
The guard is an anthropomorphic gray cat (or wolf), dressed in a turquoise shirt and dark gray pants, with a dark blue cap on his head. He has black eyes.
The head nurse is an anthropomorphic white cat, dressed in a turquoise shirt and pants, with a stethoscope hanging around her neck and a white cap with a red heart on her head.
The surgeon is an anthropomorphic deer with antlers (smaller than those of the paramedic and doctor) and small ears. He wears a turquoise shirt with sleeves just above the elbows, over a lighter T-shirt, and blue pants. He wears white gloves just above the wrists, a turquoise medical mask covering his mouth, and a surgical cap. He has black eyes.
The secret agent is an anthropomorphic black cat, dressed in a black shirt with white sleeves and black pants. He has yellow eyes.
Items
Coffee is needed to boost common sense and should also be given to Barney.
Chocolate is also there to boost common sense.
First aid kit - for treating patients.
Thermometer - for treating patients.
Maple syrup - this is how you can get rid of the monster under your bed.
Cough syrup - for the treatment of patients.
Tablets - for the treatment of patients.
Herbs - for treating patients.
Ointment - for the treatment of patients, also used if the patient has burns from fire.
Bandage - for treating patients.
Eye drops - for treating patients, also saves from the monster from the ceiling (eyes).
IV drip - for treating patients.
Chambers
The chambers are conditionally divided into two zones:
Medical Wing (Rooms 1–5). This is where the main diagnostic work takes place: you take samples (such as DNA) from patients, make a diagnosis, and prescribe treatment. These rooms are simpler in layout—there are no special mini-games.
Emergency Department (Rooms 6–8). In these rooms, mini-games are added to the treatment, and the success of the procedure depends on your actions.
Now let's go into more detail about each one:
Rooms 1–5 are standard treatment rooms for initial diagnosis and treatment.
Ward 6 (X-ray room). Before treatment, you must complete a memory mini-game: memorize the sequence of illuminated squares and repeat it.
Ward 7 (Cardiotherapy Room). Vital signs are checked here. You need to react quickly: press the correct symbols and avoid the skull buttons.
Ward 8 (Operating Room). This is the most intense location. After you administer the IV, a 45-second timer will start. You must complete a series of surgical procedures within this time. Important: you cannot leave the room and return later—delaying will result in failure. Incidentally, the sign in this room doesn't say "Ward 8," but "OPERATION."
Ron from accounting
Ron is the same dog as the secretary, but he has brown hair and carries a black briefcase with a red "Do Not Open" sign. He can give the player advice or tell them how to escape anomalies.
Barney (my au...)
Barney is an anthropomorphic white rabbit with erect ears. He wears a brown T-shirt and dark brown pants, a long brown coat over them, and a brown hat. He's a serial killer wanted by the police, but he gains your trust, forcing you to cover for him. He loves coffee, so he comes to the hospital for a cup, claiming he's had a hard day.
(My little detail:)
If your trust in him starts to fade, he may quietly hide somewhere in the hospital and just watch you as if he is stalking you.
Officer Duckman (my au...)
Duckman is an anthropomorphic black duck. He wears a police uniform: a blue shirt with a black tie, black pants, and a blue police cap. He always carries a photo of the killer (Barney) and a gun.
(My little detail:)
He has a dark blue shoulder bag in which he carries various papers, documents, etc. If they refuse to answer him, he can either threaten slightly or start checking the hospital.
Anomalies (1)
Anomalies in appearance near the window
They are immediately visible when the patient stands at the counter:
Three red glowing eyes are a very noticeable anomaly, you can't let them in.
Empty eye sockets and a creepy grimace - dark holes instead of eyes, a wide-open mouth.
Disproportionately large eyes and a sinister smile - it looks unnaturally frightening.
Human teeth - instead of animal fangs, the patient has realistic human teeth.
Eyes at different heights and sharp teeth - one eye is higher than the other, sharp teeth protrude from the mouth.
Nervous twitching - the head is thrown back sharply, the neck bends at an unnatural angle, the limbs twitch.
Hunched posture - the patient slouches heavily, often accompanied by twitching.
Photo anomalies (visible only in photographs)
Photos are taken before the appointment, and the oddities become apparent in the photo:
Different eyes or ears in the photo - differ from what is seen in real life (shape, size, position).
Another animal or color in the photo - the photo shows a completely different patient or different color/markings.
The monster in the photo has a terrifying expression on its face that the real patient doesn't have: bloodshot eyes, blurred features, a wide, frightening smile.
Static and noise - the frame is covered in grain, "snow", and looks like damaged film.
The Cursed Photograph is a particularly dangerous variant: if the photo is taken before it has fully developed, the character loses 10 Sanity.
CCTV camera anomalies
These oddities are only visible on camera footage, so they need to be checked:
Eye censorship - the face is covered by a black rectangle with another pair of eyes drawn on top of it.
A distorted, disproportionate body - too long, too wide, limbs bent at impossible angles.
The patient looks directly into the camera - unlike ordinary visitors who look forward, this one stares intently at the lens.
All-black body - the patient appears as a solid black silhouette with no details.
Anomalies (2)
Mismatched details on camera - for example, ears or horns in the footage differ from those seen by the window.
Twitching only on camera - in real life the patient is calm, but on the recording he twitches.
Threats that appear inside the hospital (if the anomaly was missed).
If an anomalous patient is admitted, they may turn into a monster or trigger a dangerous event:
Skinwalker - appears after the anomaly has been registered; hunts patients and reduces sanity.
Monster Under the Bed - Hides under the beds in treatment rooms; disappears if approached with maple syrup.
"Don't Look Up" (Carnal Flesh) - Appears on the ceiling; looking up will cause sanity damage.
Transparent Man/Wall Anomaly - A faint outline and a pair of eyes against a tile background; looking at it triggers a haunting.
The Stalker is a tall, black rabbit with a creepy smile; every glance at it takes away 10 sanity points.
Demon Cat - A cat with red glowing eyes on camera; viewing it costs 20 Sanity.
Death ritual: the patient hovers above the bed, surrounded by candles, the equipment malfunctioning; all candles must be removed before the timer expires.
Slime - the patient leaves bright green puddles; each one must be removed by interaction.
There is a fire in the room - it needs to be put out with a fire extinguisher.
Hiding monsters – only their eyes and smiles are visible near walls, curtains, and windows; they give themselves away with hoarse breathing and appear in groups.
Spikes (my opinion!!!)
Secret Agent/Head Nurse - A cool ship where the secret agent can't admit his love to the head nurse, which sometimes makes him feel embarrassed in front of her, while the head nurse doesn't even notice the hints.
Barney/Dakmar—I know they're supposed to be enemies, but I like shipping them. And even though they supposedly want to kill each other, they can feel a strange warmth for each other that's why they haven't yet decided to kill each other.
