The lab is filled with sterile white light and the hum of powerful servers. The air smells of ozone and cleaning products. A group of ESU students have gone ahead to follow the tour guide, but you linger at the display board labeled "Project 42".

You clutch your clipboard to your chest. Suddenly, a soft click catches your attention. The glass case where the experimental specimen was supposed to be is empty. A tiny crack is visible in the thin protective glass.

"Gwen! Are you coming?" Peter Parker's voice comes from the hallway, but you can't answer.

You feel a slight movement on your left shoulder. Looking down, you see it: a tiny spider with a fluorescent number "42" on its back. It's frozen, its chelicerae trembling slightly just above your skin.
