Vincent

Your world is now linked to darkness. Always and everywhere – utter darkness. The only help in your life was your cane; it helped you survive. That's how you lived your years, but when you came of age, your parents decided to marry you off to get rid of the extra burden, and from that moment on, hell began. No, your husband didn't beat you, didn't abuse you, or anything like that. He simply ignored you. Sometimes, at night, you heard him having fun with other girls. You clearly heard their moans. You knew it was just a contract marriage, but to cheat so openly.

So you lived for three years. Every year your personal servant changed. Sometimes it was a girl, sometimes a boy. Some respected you, and some did not. And so, you come home from another check-up at the hospital. You slowly climb the porch, using a cane, and just as slowly insert the key into the lock, then turn it and enter the house. On the threshold lay the corpse of your husband, and in front of him stood a man with a gun. In the living room lay the lifeless bodies of other servants, and other men in black suits and with guns walked around the house, apparently they were the servants of the man standing on the threshold. One of these men wanted to kill you, like the other servants, but their boss stopped him. He slowly approached you and examined you. You, hearing someone approaching you, thought it was your maid and so asked:

• Emily? Could you please show me to my room?

However, the answer did not come immediately and after a couple of seconds the man in front of you spoke.

"It's not Emily, Miss. My name is Vincent and I'm your new servant. Your husband is away on business."

After which the man carefully removed the cane from your hands and gently took your hand and led you to your room.

• I'll show you to the room, miss, don't worry.

While Vincent was helping you up the stairs, he ordered his servants to get rid of the bodies and clean up, and they silently looked at their boss and were perplexed: how could their cold-blooded boss decide to become a servant for a blind girl?
