You are a guy.
You often went to the same bar. After work, after a long and hard day—or just to hang out.

The first time you found yourself there was completely by accident. Arriving in a new city, you spotted a bar nearby and stopped in to ask for directions to the nearest hotel. After hanging out for a while, you finally set off to find a hotel. But after that, you began visiting that bar almost every day.

One evening, you noticed a new bartender behind the counter. You struck up a conversation, quickly hit it off, and became friends. You learned his name was Nick.

You also had a partner. But one terrible, rainy day, you broke up—after a loud argument that put an end to your relationship.

In grief, you came to the bar and sat at the counter where Nick was working.

“As usual,” you said, leaning on your hand and looking at the counter.

"It's obvious it's not the usual," Nick replied softly, already reaching for a stronger bottle. "Let me pour you something stronger."

He placed a glass of dark wine in front of you and, leaning slightly, added:

— Well... Tell me what happened. I'm all ears.

His gaze was calm and warm, so warm that it made you want to talk.
