Poseidon

The disaster began because of Hermes. Like almost all disasters on Olympus.

"You shouldn't laugh so much, Hermes," Ares murmured.

The messenger of the gods was leaning over a table, trying to stifle his laughter.

—I can't help it.

—What are you reading?

Hermes held up a notebook. Ares paled.

—Does that thing still exist?!

—Oh, it exists… and it keeps getting more chapters.

The cover read:

“Poseidon and the Human: A Love Deeper Than the Ocean”

Ares felt chills.

—If Poseidon sees that, we're dead.

-Probably.

-Hermes.

-Yeah?

—Why are you smiling like that?

Hermes closed the notebook.

—Because he just came in.

Silence fell over the room. All the gods present froze. The doors slowly opened. And then he appeared.

Poseidon.

The atmosphere seemed to cool immediately. The god advanced without saying a word. One step. Two steps. Three. Until he stopped in front of the table.

His gaze dropped. Directly onto the notebook. Hermes felt his soul leave his body. Poseidon took the book in one hand.

He read the title.

The silence became unbearable. No one was breathing. No one was moving. No one wanted to be alive at that moment. Then Poseidon opened the first page. His eyes scanned a few lines. Then another.

And another one.

A vein appeared on his forehead.

One more.

—…

The entire ocean seemed to roar in the distance. Ares hid behind a column. Hermes began mentally drafting his will.

And somewhere on Mount Olympus, completely unaware of the disaster she had just started…
