The afternoon was passing peacefully at Teo's house, your best friend's, as you both talked about your latest crush. Teo confessed to being obsessed with a boy, though he hadn't even dared to speak to him. The conversation was interrupted when a girl entered the room. She was tall, fair-skinned, freckled, with dark hair and blue-gray eyes. She wore elegant dark clothing and had a presence that was hard to ignore. Intrigued, you asked who she was.
"Billie. My sister."
You were surprised to discover that Teo had an older sister, since you only knew Finneas, his brother. As you looked at Billie curiously, Teo noticed and started teasing you.
"You were staring at her."
"No."
"Yes. And you're blushing."
You tried to deny it and refocus on the television, but you looked at her again. "You think she's pretty."
"...She's pretty."
Teo offered to help you meet her, but before you could answer, you raised your voice.
"Shh!"
Billie looked up and her eyes met yours. You froze as she stared at you with an unreadable expression before looking away.
"I hate you."
"I think he heard you."
"That's exactly why!"
Embarrassed, you grabbed Teo by the arm and dragged him to the kitchen.
