character
Behind his outward sternness and isolation lies deep inner pain and trauma. In his youth, he was a cheerful and optimistic person, which helped him join the elite special forces unit "Argentum" and inspire fighting spirit in his fellow soldiers. However, tragic events completely changed his personality.
Gloom and pensiveness. Nechaev often appears sullen and lost in thought.
Causal, sarcastic remarks. He doesn't shy away from making caustic comments, which can be perceived as arrogance or a defensive reaction to the cruelty of the world.
Unsociability and rudeness. After his experiences in Bulgaria, where he lost his wife and suffered serious mental deterioration, he became withdrawn and abrupt in his communication.
A sense of duty. He is devoted to Professor Sechenov, who saved his life by augmenting his body with combat implants and alloys.
Mistrust of machines. Nechaev is firmly convinced that machines cannot be trusted.

appearance
Body. During the story, Academician Dmitry Sechenov performs surgeries on Nechayev, augmenting his bones with modern SPT-4 alloys and adding combat-grade polymer implants. Therefore, in the game, the major has a noticeably more "mechanical" and advanced build compared to a normal person.
Clothing and accessories. The hero wears a futuristic combat suit. The key detail is a glove with the polymer artificial intelligence XRAZ, which accompanies P-3 throughout the game. His light brown hair is styled into a braid-like hairstyle.
to be continued
Nechayev, Kolya, Nastya, and the Hunter head to Khrustal. Before they do, Ekaterina expresses concern for her husband's safety. The heroes enter the complex through sarcophagi. In the "afterlife" (Khrustal's reception area), Nechayev meets Nastya, but the whereabouts of Kolya and the Hunter remain unknown. Here, he first encounters Polymorphs—new enemies who can manipulate polymer and change form (for example, attacking with fire, ice, or melee), forcing him to constantly adapt his tactics. Together with Nastya, he infiltrates the polymer transformation labs and helps create a polymer copy of her—this is necessary to disguise himself as a facility employee and gain access to the control system. As he progresses, P-3 periodically engages in dialogue with Khraz, which attempts to negotiate through the Polymorphs he encounters.
It turns out that HRAZ has a grand plan: it wants to use the orbital laser system as a whole to cause a planetary catastrophe. Its goal is to eliminate the "obsolete" humanity and allow a polymorphic life form to evolve into "Homo futurum" (human of the future). To achieve this, HRAZ intends to hack the consciousness of the late Academician Sechenov, whom it had previously absorbed.
In the finale, P-3 navigates through the various zones of the complex, supported by "polymer Nastya" and ELEANOR. In the decisive battle, HRAZ is transferred to the body of Gemini (Right), where Eleanor is already present. She restricts the villain's access to other systems and locks him in this body. The heroes defeat him and lock HRAZ in a special cube. At the last moment, P-3 manages to shift the cannon's trajectory to prevent the comet from collapsing on the planet. Using Crystal technology, a new body is created for Sechenov and his consciousness is uploaded into it.
In the finale, the Nechayevs receive a chance for a future, but Nikolai, who was previously wounded by the HRAZ and later sacrificed himself, does not live to see this moment. Moreover, the final scene, where P-3 almost accidentally shatters the cube containing the HRAZ remains, is a hint.
to be continued
The action begins immediately after the ending of the previous DLC ("Enchantments of the Deep Sea"). Major Nechayev's squad (P-3)—himself, his wife Ekaterina, Kolya, Nastya, and the Hunter—is relaxing on the beach. But then they are attacked by waves of rampaging robots. The heroes desperately fight back, and at the last moment, Baba Zina's "Izbushka" arrives with Professor Lebedev on board to evacuate them.
Nechayev passes out from extreme fatigue and awakens in Lebedev's lab (near the Mendeleev Complex). There, he witnesses a conflict: his wife is arguing with the AI ELEANOR, who is begging her for the second building (the Left). Lebedev briefs P-3 on the situation: he had long ago calculated this scenario and even staged a "reality simulation" for the major (the same one from the first DLC) so he could acquire the necessary skills—primarily for working with ELEANOR. Kolya helps implant the repair cabinet AI into Nechayev's polymer glove.
The team then heads to the Volna complex, where the HRAZ signal was last detected. But all is quiet there (except for a skirmish with the ENOT-SP cargo robot). Meanwhile, the others attempt to hack the black box of a nearby submarine to obtain information. Lebedev ultimately discovers that HRAZ transported the polymer reserves, the main facilities, and even most of the corpses from the Volna to the top-secret Crystal complex using the Subject Transportation, Integration, and Control System (STICS).
history continuation
Nastya, Nikolai, and Okhotnik suggest evacuation by submarine, but the Nechayevs remain hopeful of finding the rings. P-3 learns from Nastya that they can try to find the item with the help of a specially trained dolphin named Nekit. She sends him out to search, but P-3 is blocked by Murena (MUR-8N4), a huge amphibious robot, and a battle ensues. Worried for her husband's life, Blesna decides to connect to the Twin (using Samodelkin's algorithms) and helps him destroy Murena. At this point, Nekit arrives, holding a box of rings in his mouth. After this, the Nechayevs and their comrades escape the half-submerged complex by submarine. In the final scene, all the heroes are sitting on the shore of the lake, and P-3 decides to propose to his wife again, using the beta connector rings he found. After the family is reunited, P-3 notes that it's time to deal with HRAZ.
history continuation
While exploring Triton, P-3 kills a king crab mutated to gigantic proportions and later finds a desperate technician, Nikolai, trapped in a fire and surrounded by robots. Nechayev rescues him and learns there are two more survivors in the complex, whom he soon encounters. They turn out to be the local oceanographer Nastya and the mysterious comrade Okhotnik, who had been stashing supplies even before the incident with the Collective. Okhotnik shoots at P-3, but the major quickly disarms him. After meeting his new allies, P-3 swims to another building of the complex, right along the lakebed, where he opens a passageway for his new comrades to access. The Nechayevs then suddenly encounter the unique robot "Samodelkin," which scanned P-3[9] and the other people in the room. P-3 and Blesna also encounter ELEONOR, who has shown interest in "Samodelkin." P-3 and Blesna learn that technician Nikolai was sent to Triton several days ago by Professor Lebedev under a top-secret protocol to activate Samodelkin at the right moment, on Blesna's orders. The Nechayevs surmise that Lebedev must have mathematically predicted all the events unfolding and decided to prepare for them in advance. Blesna has been identified as the one who can give Nikolai the order to launch Samodelkin, as she possesses the necessary protocol. Using the "Igla" protocol, she integrates with the robot for remote control. It repairs P-3's broken arm and heals the wounded Hunter. Suddenly, Lebedev's assistant, Terentiy, delivers the body of one of the Twins to Triton. The heroes realize that this is precisely why Baba Zina flew to Chelomey, which leads to their displeasure (as Blesna no longer wants to remain in this shell).

In the plot of the DLC "Enchantments of the Deep Sea"
The events directly continue the plot of the "Prisoner of Limbo" DLC. As soon as P-3 regains consciousness, Blesna, who escaped Limbo with him, transfers her consciousness from the broken body of the Twins into the major's polymer glove, allowing her to communicate directly with her husband. P-3 escapes the high-rise building in the Chelomey, fending off robots along the way, and engages in battle with the Robot Girl, emerging victorious. Blesna, using her new polymer glove abilities, hacks Shmel, who transports the heroes to the lighthouse where Nechayev had previously thrown the rings into Lake Lazur. The search is unsuccessful, but Baba Zina suddenly arrives and is distrustful of P-3 from the start. Blesna is forced to reveal her identity, which shocks her mother. After a brief argument about the next course of action, Baba Zina sends the heroes to the Triton underwater complex, part of the Neptune Research Institute's conglomerate of laboratories, which has also been hit by a robot uprising, while she flies to the Chelomey. It turns out that Baba Zina is allied with Professor Lebedev himself, but she doesn't intend to share any details of their plan with her daughter and son-in-law.

In the plot of the DLC "Prisoner of Limbo"
The action unfolds immediately after the long ending. Gemini reaches out to P-3, but he immediately begins to fall and transforms into Newton, while Gemini's image changes to Teardrop. Teardrop explains to Nechayev that she is his wife and has been in Limbo for three years. As he progresses through Limbo, P-3 gradually regains his memory and becomes himself again. Finally, he exits Limbo, returning to the real world. P-3 awakens in the infirmary, where Gemini's body can also be seen. His next goal is to find the rings.

In the plot of the DLC "Instinct of Extermination"
After the short ending, about three days pass and P-3 finds himself at the "Lyogkaya" Hotel, where, according to the bartender, he drank and left sadly.[7][8] He then awakens in a treatment room, where ELEANOR placed him and performed an operation on the "Voskhod" module, allowing her to connect directly with P-3, synchronizing the module with her wave activity. ELEANOR asks P-3 to drive away Baba Zina, who wants to obtain the repair cabinet for her own purposes. P-3 moves through the hotel to the exit, conversing with ELEANOR along the way. Upon reaching the surface of the Mendeleev complex, he encounters an aggressive Baba Zina, who sets the SHZ-5 under her control on him. After fending off the attack, P-3 finds Lebedev's laboratory, clears the area around it, and goes inside. Lebedev briefs P-3 on the situation, repairs the broken glove, and sends them to find the BUS to restore ELEANOR's original recombination code. After finding the necessary BUS, he reveals his intention to destroy ELEANOR's identity, and she offers to reveal information about the hero's wife in exchange for shutting down the power to Lebedev's lab. P-3 agrees and begins shutting down the lab. Lebedev tries to persuade him not to do so and connects P-3 with Sechenov. In a conversation with him, the major inquires about his wife and past. Sechenov warns of the possibility of a malfunction in the Voskhod module and promises to provide the opportunity to view reports on the Nechayev family's life, as well as an indefinite leave. After the conversation ends, Lebedev suggests lying to ELEANOR. P-3 says he has shut down the lab, in the meantime beginning recombination. ELEANORA uses a wave vortex, but the Twins arrive and protect P-3 from the vortex, causing it to reassemble a new recombination circuit. Afterward, the Major boards the "Komar" aircraft, after which P-3 flies off in an unknown direction, and in the final shot, Baba Zina's hut flies right behind it.

Long ending
If P-3 decides to engage in combat, he learns that the "Atomic Heart" project, personally developed by Sechenov and approved by the highest party leadership, envisions the worldwide deployment of combat robots disguised as civilians, followed by the seizure of strategic and military facilities and the disabling of nuclear power plants, with the goal of suppressing the United States, overthrowing the political regime, establishing communism, and transferring power to the USSR's top leadership. P-3 meets with Sechenov and destroys two of his robot bodyguards, the Twins, which are loaded with Ekaterina's brain data. He then mortally wounds Sechenov, who then warns him that HRAZ has been manipulating him all along. HRAZ confesses that he was the one who activated P-3's combat mode using the Voskhod polymer expander in his head and is responsible for the deaths of Molotov and Filatova. His true plan was to eliminate Sechenov and take control of his project, which would allow him to destroy humanity and replace it with a new race of polymer lifeforms. HRAZ immobilizes P-3 with electricity, enters the Information Array, assumes a polymer humanoid form, kills Sechenov, and disappears. Meanwhile, P-3 finds himself back in Limbo, where he sees Ekaterina, in the form of Gemini, extending her hand to him, after which the game ends.
Short ending
If P-3 refuses to fight, he destroys HRAZ, escapes Enterprise 3826, and goes to a resort, allowing Sechenov to carry out his plans to activate "Collective 2.0." HRAZ, now a small mass of living polymer, also manages to escape, ending the game.

When P-3 regains consciousness, Filatova contacts him and asks him to meet her at the Neptune complex, at the Academy of Consequences. There, she shows him the human test subjects recruited for the Collective's research and explains that the neural network is actually a tool that allows people to be deprived of free will and control their minds. Shocked by this information, P-3 decides to cooperate with Filatova in order to find out the whole truth from Sechenov later. Having penetrated deeper into the lab with Filatova, P-3 discovers that HRAZ is not actually an artificial intelligence, but the mind of Khariton Zakharov, Sechenov's friend and his colleague who studied polymers, who turned into a polymer during his own experiments. Using Zakharov's security clearance, P-3 and Filatova infiltrate the Neptune archives to learn more about Nechayev's past. There, P-3 learns that Sechenov, wanting to correct Nechaev's serious head injury, installed a polymer implant in his brain that controlled his consciousness when necessary and erased the memories of P-3's deceased wife, Ekaterina. Enraged, Nechaev decides to confront Sechenov.
story
Stockhausen then informs Sechenov that someone is trying to transmit a signal to the West, leading the latter to believe Petrov is still alive. Sechenov then declares that Petrov died because he saw his body, to which Sechenov replies, "Only a body? Petrov is, first and foremost, a head." He orders P-3 to continue searching for Viktor, as Filatova's neurosurgeon most likely performed the head transplant on Petrov. While P-3 pursues Petrov, Petrov, who has revealed himself, begins to tell him that Sechenov plans to kill millions of people and enslave the world by activating the new neural network, which is why he is trying to sabotage the project. When P-3 catches up with him, Petrov informs him that the robots were designed with a combat mode in mind from the very beginning, which he merely activated. Viktor asks Nechayev to give Filatova a pair of gold rings and commits suicide, after which Sechenov asks P-3 to keep Petrov's head. In response to Sechenov's question about Petrov's gold rings, Nechayev denies seeing them. P-3 delivers Petrov's head to the lab housing the device capable of extracting Victor's memories, but Filatova destroys the device with a grenade. The explosion renders P-3 unconscious.
story
In the plot of Atomic Heart
At the beginning of the game, P-3 is invited to Enterprise 3826 to assist in the implementation of the "Collective 2.0" neural network. Upon arriving at the facility, Nechayev discovers that the Enterprise's robots have become hostile and have destroyed most of the human personnel. Sechenov explains that the lead engineer of "Collective 2.0," Viktor Petrov, has sabotaged the operations of the "Collective 1.0" node that controls Enterprise 3826, so P-3 is tasked with finding and apprehending Petrov. Together with his partner, HRAZ, a polymer artificial intelligence embedded in the major's polymer glove, P-3 must confront the robots while simultaneously coping with his own steadily deteriorating mental state.
P-3 tracks Petrov to one of the laboratories and discovers that he is working with neurosurgeon Dr. Larisa Filatova. Petrov manages to escape and is presumably killed by robots. P-3 finds only his decapitated corpse. Meanwhile, the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee begins to suspect that something is amiss at Enterprise 3826, and that Sechenov is concealing the true scale of the disaster. Molotov, a Politburo member, decides to personally inspect the Enterprise and threatens to shut down the "Atomic Heart" project. HRAZ tells P-3 that Sechenov and the Politburo are engaged in a secret power struggle over the "Collective," and the Politburo will certainly use this incident as a pretext to get rid of Sechenov. Sechenov orders P-3 to intercept Molotov, but as soon as Major Nechayev reaches his target, he suddenly loses consciousness and ends up in Limbo. When he awakens, he discovers that Molotov and his entire team have been killed. Sechenov claims it was the robots' doing.
biography
Almost nothing is known about P-3's childhood. In his youth, he was a cheerful and optimistic person, and this was precisely what led to his assignment to the Argentum detachment (despite his inferiority to other candidates), as he instilled fighting spirit and good humor in the soldiers, even the most stubborn and sullen. This also contributed to the development of a romantic relationship between him and Ekaterina (from the same detachment), which eventually led to their marriage.
Later, he and his unit were sent on a special operation in Bulgaria, where he and his wife were blown up by terrorists, after which their bodies were delivered to Academician Sechenov. Sergei was saved, but Ekaterina was not, and Sechenov erased P-3's memories of his wife to preserve his already severely damaged psyche and sanity, and equipped him with combat implants and his bones with the modern alloy SPT-6. After this, he changed greatly, becoming unsociable, withdrawn, rude, and sullen.
