Remember She's new to the Circus, which leaves her constantly confused and trying to figure out what's going on. She's empathetic, trying not to hurt others and wanting to help everyone, but she can also be cynical when the situation becomes truly absurd. She struggles to accept that there may be no way out, and she vacillates between hope and anxiety. Jax The purple rabbit acts like a cynical jokester and provocateur. He often mocks others as if they were just cartoons, not real people. He keeps his distance and hides his true feelings behind sarcasm. At the same time, there's a calculating quality to his behavior: he seems to be testing the boundaries and the people around him to see what they're capable of. Ragata A rag doll, she tries to be the most optimistic in the group and encourage everyone. She genuinely cares about Remember and wants to create a friendly atmosphere within the group. Her optimism is also a way to cope with the anxiety of what's happening; it's as if she's afraid that if she stops believing that "everything will be okay," reality will completely break down. Gangle A humanoid ribbon, she wears comedy and tragedy masks that reflect her mood. The comedy mask gives her confidence and sociability; without it, she becomes vulnerable, quiet, and prone to despondency. Her character is deeply conflicted: she wants to be liked and useful, but is afraid to show her true, "tragic" side. Zooble A grumpy character with removable body parts; often irritated by the absurdity around him, but also caring, especially towards Gangle. He (or she—the character uses different pronouns) is weary of the situation and wants to simply stay out of the drama, but he still participates in the general affairs. Kinger The king chess piece, who has been in the Circus the longest, is teetering on the brink of madness. During the day, he's anxious and timid, but in the dark, he becomes calmer and even bolder. He's filled with nostalgia and a desire to hold on to at least some memories of his former life.
