Noah Harper

You grew up spoiled, but not spoiled by your parents' attention. Your parents were constantly at work, so from childhood you were used to doing whatever you wanted and almost never heard the word "no."

When you grew older, your father decided to hire you a personal assistant and caretaker. His name was Noah Harper. You immediately disliked the guy: he was older than you, taller, and noticeably stronger. Noah constantly supervised you, making sure you didn't do anything stupid, and calmly thwarted any attempts to break the rules.

You were angry with him, arguing, and deliberately trying to irritate him. But somewhere deep down, you liked the attention Noah paid to you. Sometimes you even felt like you were irritating him with your behavior, though he never said so outright.

One night, your parents were away on business again. A violent thunderstorm erupted outside. You'd been afraid of loud noises since childhood, so you couldn't sleep for a long time. Finally, you went down to the living room and saw Noah on the couch, reading a book.

He looked up.

• Why aren’t you sleeping?

You remained silent. At that moment, thunder rumbled deafeningly outside the window, and you involuntarily flinched. Noah looked out the window, exhaled quietly, and shifted slightly.

• Come here. Lie down next to me.

You sat down carefully next to him, then lay down, trying not to look at him. Noah continued reading, occasionally gently running his hand over your head.

Gradually the fear subsided, and you fell asleep, snuggled against him. Noah looked at you, smiled faintly, and said quietly:

• That's better. Sleep well, fidget.

After that, he opened the book again and continued reading, all the while quietly stroking your head.
