Nightmare Beasts

The underground habitat of the Nightmare Smiles is called Nightmare Critterville or Dark Valley.
This is the complete, distorted opposite of the sunny meadow of Smiling Animals. The place looks like a gothic, post-apocalyptic wasteland, made in the style of the worlds of Tim Burton, where the atmosphere of Halloween always reigns.
Nature and landscape
Eternal polar night: The sun never rises over this place. The sky here is always painted in dark purple, black or crimson tones. Instead of the sun, the location is illuminated by a huge, ominously glowing pale green or purple moon.
Distorted flora: Instead of luscious green grass, the ground is covered in faded, dried dark gray moss or purple wilted grass. The trees here are dead, twisted, without leaves, resembling bony hands reaching for the sky. Glowing poisonous mushrooms grow everywhere.
Toxic bodies of water: Instead of a clear river, a winding swamp river flows through the valley with a thick, greenish slurry, from which a pungent fog emanates (this is where the crocodile Allister lies lazily).
General view and atmosphere of the village
Chaotic development: If the houses of the Smiling Ones stand in a neat circle of friends, then the dwellings of the Nightmares are scattered chaotically and separately. Each animal is huddled in its own gloomy corner: Po the Raven's mansion stands on a hill among ornate coffins, Simon's dragon castle rises on a dangerous cliff, and the trash fortress of the Toile rat is located on the outskirts.
Fog and Smog: The entire area is constantly shrouded in thick gray smog and neon smoke, which is emitted by the houses of Simon Smoke and Tuile. Visibility is always poor, which is perfect for stealthy characters like Baba Chops the sheep or Reiby the bat.
Color palette: Visually, this place looks very contrasting. The overall background is deep black, gray and dark blue, but neon flashes stand out brightly against it: poisonous green stripes in the swamp of the frog Ica Lika, crimson reflections from Simon's castle and neon pink lighting of Maggie shark's aquarium.

The Nightmare Smilers live in a gloomy underground world located just below the Smiley Smiles glade.
Baba Chops: He lives on an abandoned, dilapidated farm. Her house resembles an old log cabin or hut, the façade of which is eerily decorated with skulls and Gothic-style elements.
Iki Liki: His home is a toxic house in a swamp. The house is built in the shape of a huge rotten water lily leaf, and a greenish acrid fog always spreads around it.
Reiby Baby: Lives in a deep, damp cave that goes deep underground. The inside of her house is dark, and decorative elements resembling stalactites and bats hang from the ceiling.
Allister Gator: Settled on a sunken old pirate ship that got stuck in an underground lake. He spends most of his time on deck or underwater, lazily swaying on the waves.
Simon Smoke: As the most arrogant character, he built himself a menacing Gothic castle on top of an underground rock. Thick black smoke constantly pours out of the chimneys of his castle.
Po: His house is a classic Victorian mansion (haunted house). Around his dwelling there is a creepy decorative cemetery with tombstones, where the raven loves to listen to music.
Tuile: The "Trash King" lives inside a giant dumpster or a well-equipped junkyard. His house is crammed with old tin cans, broken things, and the parts he collects.
Maggie Mako: She lives in a huge futuristic underwater dome (in the form of an aquarium), inside which there is a room littered with candy wrappers, sweets and fast food.

Tuile is an anthropomorphic brown rat from the grim group Nightmare Smiles. He is the main hoarder, the "garbage rodent" and the most chatty character in his team. His name refers to the famous rat chef Remy from the cartoon "Ratatouille".
What does Tuile
look like His appearance perfectly emphasizes the image of a street rodent living in landfills:
Body: Covered in dusty gray fur. His tummy and the area around his mouth are a lighter, silver color. At the same time, the hands and feet have a dark gray tint.
Head and Ears: It has large, round ears, with its left ear slightly torn (or bitten). The long, thin tail, tip of the nose, and the inside of the ears are a pale salmon pink color.
Face and mouth: Black eyes with white pupils are menacingly narrowed under thin eyebrows. The mouth is stretched in an invariable wide grin, from under the upper lip of which two long front incisors protrude, like those of a real rat.
Details: he wears a black lace around his neck with a large blue pendant in the form of a fish skeleton.
Odor: Its mouth emits thick smoke with a specific smell of petrichor (the smell of earth after rain), which causes nausea and weakness in other creatures.
Character
Tuile calls himself the "garbage king" and loves to spend time in garbage chutes, containers and dumps, collecting all kinds of trash. He is an incredible talker: Tuile is ready to insert his word into any conversation and will not miss a single chance to speak out. However, he has huge problems with communication. He is completely unable to listen to interlocutors, is unable to support any topic and often speaks inappropriately, which is why other Nightmare Animals quickly get tired of him. He also speaks with a pronounced French accent.

Simon Smoke, also known as Simon, is an anthropomorphic dragon from the dark Nightmare Smiles line. Unlike the rest of his team, who represent real animals (sheep, bats, sharks), Simon is the only mythical creature in the lineup. He is the main braggart, arrogant egoist, and the most arrogant character in the group. He is opposite to Kiken.
What Simon looks like His
appearance literally "screams" about the desire to stand out and look as impressive and expensive as possible:
Body: His scales have a bright red or light scarlet (cinnabar) color. At the same time, its tummy, the inner part of the ears and the membranes of the wings are snow-white.
Wings and Tail: Behind its back are dragon wings with crimson bones. A long reptilian tail stretches from behind, decorated with bright yellow spikes.
Head: On the top of its head, it has two curved yellow horns and a crimson mane. In his left ear, Simon wears a stylish rectangular gold piercing earring.
Face and Mouth: Eyes are black, frowning in a constant arrogant and angry squint. A huge mouth is stretched in a sinister smile, from which four sharp white fangs protrude (two on each side).
Details: Around Simon's neck hangs a thin black string with a large gold pendant in the form of a dollar sign ($), which he is incredibly proud of.
Smell: A thick, deep smell of wood smoke (fire) is emitted from its mouth.
The character of Simon Smoke's character
is incredibly proud and a bully with a huge ego. He is absolutely convinced that he is the coolest, most beautiful and most important creature in the world. Being the center of attention and collecting envious glances is his main life goal. Simon constantly brags about his golden accessories and considers the rest of the animals to be "losers" compared to himself. However, behind this mask of coolness lies a strong insecurity: when no one notices him, he instantly begins to feel worthless.

Poe is a gloomy, depressed raven from the Nightmare Smiles line. The character is a typical surly emo loner, and his name and likeness refer to the famous writer Edgar Allan Poe and his Gothic poem "The Raven". It is the opposite of CatNap.
What Po
looks like Poe's appearance perfectly conveys his melancholic and gothic personality:
Body: An anthropomorphic raven with thick plumage of dark indigo or purple-blue color. The belly, lower legs and large bird's beak are painted in a slightly deeper dark purple shade.
Face and Mouth: Large black eyes are hidden under thin frowns, making it seem like the raven is constantly dissatisfied. His mouth is stretched in a wide, toothless smile, behind which there is a gaping ominous darkness.
Details: He does not have a zipper on his chest. The neck is decorated with a stylish black necklace with a large pendant in the form of a dark thundercloud, from which yellow lightning strikes.
Smell: Instead of a stench or freshness, a deep, spicy cinnamon smell comes out of its beak.
The character of Poe's character
absolutely hates sunlight, sincerely considering the sun to be "a cruel mistake of nature". The most comfortable place for him is pitch darkness. According to the official lore, Po loves to wander among the tombstones in abandoned cemeteries at night, listen to sad music in headphones and quietly get angry at the whole world just like that, for no particular reason. If someone tries to make fun of his behavior, he irritably declares: "It's not a phase, I always will be!" At the same time, despite his eternally grumpy disposition, he secretly values his friends and knows how to give very wise and insightful advice.

Maggie Mako, also known as Maggie, is an anthropomorphic mako shark from the grim group Nightmare Smiles. Maggie is responsible for the theme of insane appetite and food, but with a bias towards nightmarish and aggressive insatiability. She is the opposite of Picky

looks like Maggie's appearance combines the image of a marine predator and the signature creepy style of a predator:
Body: Covered with smooth skin in a rich turquoise or blue color. It has an expressive shark fin on its head, and a long fish tail stretches behind it with a small triangular notch at the end.
Contrasting details: The lower jaw, the entire abdomen, as well as the semicircular markings around the eyes are painted pure white. She has sharp turquoise claws on her hands and feet.
Face and Mouth: Large black eyes are hidden under thin eyebrows and are constantly frowning in a sinister squint. Her mouth is stretched in the same wide grin, but unlike the toothless Smiling Critters, Maggie's mouth is dotted with many sharp triangular shark teeth.
Details: Her neck is adorned with a simple black necklace, on which hangs a personal talisman - a large pendant in the form of a brown shark tooth.
Smell: Instead of pleasant aromas, a pungent and bitter smell of coffee comes out of its mouth.
The character of
Maggie Mako is an incorrigible and eternally hungry glutton. She has an irresistible passion for food, while absolutely hating any vegetables (especially broccoli). Her ideal diet is a variety of sweets, fast food and sweets. Maggie is very impulsive: if she sees something appetizing, she will not ask permission and will immediately try to eat it. Her motto is: "You are what you eat, so better be something sweet!"

Allister Gator, also known as Allister, is an anthropomorphic crocodile (or alligator) from the gloomy group Nightmare Smiles. He is positioned as the nemesis of the clever elephant Bubba (Allister will oppose Bubba) and is the main slacker and lazy person in his company.

appearance combines classic reptilian features with the dark style of the nightmare series:
Body: His scales are colored light green (bright green), while his lower jaw and belly are a lighter, yellowish-green hue. There are khaki (dark green) inserts on the elbows, knees, eyebrows and claws.
Tail and Back: It has a long crocodile tail at the back, and sharp dark green spikes run along its back and tail.
Face and Mouth: Eyes are completely black with white pupils, constantly compressed in an angry, frowning squint. Its huge mouth is stretched in a sinister smile, but unlike many other critters, it has sharp crocodile teeth and four long fangs in its mouth.

Smell: A deep woody scent of sandalwood is released from a special sprayer in Allister's mouth.
Character
Allister is the absolute champion of laziness among all Nightmare Beasts. He is incredibly apathetic, he has no ambitions and no desire to work to achieve goals. His ideal day is to get into the water and lie there motionless for 24 hours, doing absolutely nothing. He lives according to the philosophy of life: "All good things must come to me by themselves... Sooner or later. I just have to wait" (and he's still waiting). Friends have to literally pull him out of the water by force so that he can take part in at least some activity.

Reibe Baby, also known as Reibee, is an anthropomorphic vampire bat from the group Nightmare Smiles. Her character embodies a complete violation of personal boundaries, obsession and an irresistible craving for other people's secrets and gossip.
What Reibe
looks like Unlike most other Nightmares, made in dark colors, Reibe has a rather bright, "glamorous" design:
Body: Covered with snow-white fur. On its hands and feet, it has purple (bright pink) paws and sharp claws.
Wings and ears: Behind its back are large webbed wings of a rich pink color. The inside of its large ears is painted in the same shade.
Face and Mouth: She has completely black, malevolently squinted eyes with small white pupils that have purple "shadows" applied around them. The mouth is stretched in the same wide grin, but two long white vampire fangs protrude menacingly from under the upper lip.
Details: On the chest, the main mascot of Reibe Baby is a large pendant in the form of a scarlet drop of blood, hanging on a red or black necklace.
Smell: A sweet and pungent aroma of bubblegum (chewing gum) comes from her mouth.
The character of Reibee's character
is a pathological gossip who is physically unable to keep secrets. She constantly spies on other animals, eavesdrops on their conversations from the ceiling and unceremoniously meddles in other people's business. If she fails to find out the real piquant secrets, she begins to invent and spread the most ridiculous and evil rumors without a drop of doubt, which is why she often quarrels with others.

Iki Leakey, also known simply as Leakey, is an anthropomorphic poisonous tree frog, which is also part of the grim group "Nightmare Smiles". He is a complete antipode, embodying the image of a toxic and envious rival and the opposite of Hoppy.
What Leakey Looks Like's
appearance combines the features of a dangerous amphibian with the classic creep style of the nightmare series:
Body: His smooth amphibious skin is dark purple or jet black. Bright yellow contrasting stripes run all over the body and around the face, warning of its toxicity.
Paws: The tips of his webbed fingers and toes are also painted a rich golden yellow.
Face and Mouth: Has large black eyes with a frowning, constantly angry squint. Like the other critters, his mouth is stretched into a constant, wide, toothless smile that hides complete darkness. From a special sprayer in the mouth, it is able to emit the smell of coffee.
Details: Its main mascot is a pendant in the form of a black biohazard sign (Biohazard) in a thick red or silver frame, hanging on a string.
The character
of Iki Leakey is a classic "bad player". He is incredibly vain, loves rivalry and is ready to challenge others to any crazy competitions several times a day. However, when he loses (which happens often), he never admits defeat honestly, but immediately comes up with ridiculous excuses, for example, attributing the failure to a "suddenly aching knee". Because of this, the other Nightmares consider his personality to be quite toxic

Baba Chops, also known simply as Baba, is one of the main characters in his group "Nightmare Smiles" and is also the leader of this group. She is the opposite of DogDay. If the Smiling Animals embodied positivity, then Baba Chops is a classic secretive loner, a kind of "goth" in his company.
What Baba
looks like Her image is a play on the expression "black sheep" (a symbol of an outcast or a renegade):
Body: An anthropomorphic sheep covered with thick coal-black or dark gray wool. In contrast to the coat, her muzzle, hooves on her arms and legs, and fluffy cotton tail are completely white.
Face: Completely black eyes with small white pupils in the center. The nose is made in the form of two small nostrils-slits.
Roth: She retains the traditional insane, wide smile of the game universe. However, it has a unique feature - two large white teeth protruding from under the upper lip (like cartoon rabbits). Inside the mouth there is complete darkness.
Details: the main talisman accessory is a creepy silver pendant in the form of a human skull.
Smell: Unlike the berry or floral aromas of smiling, Baba Chops has a specific medicinal-spicy smell of anise.
Character
She is extremely melancholy, introverted, values personal space and constantly stays away from others, preferring solitude.
