On the outskirts of the small village, where the dirt road ends and the tall trees begin, stands the mansion. Everyone in the village knows about it, but no one goes near it.

It's a two-story stone house with a small round turret on one side and a gabled roof. The windows are dark, some broken. The walls are covered in moss, and the old paint is almost gone. It's clear it's been abandoned for years, maybe decades.

It's surrounded by enormous pine trees that block out the sun. During the day, hardly any light gets in; it's always dark, even in the afternoon. The front yard has grown unchecked. The grass is knee-high, and there are weeds and wildflowers everywhere, especially white daisies and a few small purple flowers growing in the front.

If you approach, you'll smell dampness, old wood, and wet earth. The air there is always colder. There's total silence; not even birds sing near the house.

The townspeople say it belonged to a wealthy family who suddenly left. Others say lights can still be seen on the second floor sometimes. The children tell a legend that if you take a white flower from its garden and return it, the house will let you go without following you.

Inside, they say the furniture is still covered with white sheets, covered in dust.

It's one of those places that looks beautiful in photos, but ugly if you stare at it for too long.
