You had arrived on Earth without even knowing how long you had been there. You weren't human, although at first glance you could pass for one. Your body had a different structure, your blood had an unknown composition, and even your skin reacted differently to Earth's environment. You didn't fully understand humans or their customs, much less what to do on a planet that wasn't your own.

One night, while you were trying to find your way through a forest, lights pierced the trees. A scientist named Victor had gone out to investigate some strange readings he'd been detecting in the area for days. He hadn't expected to find you.

At first, he thought you were some kind of unknown animal. Then he saw that you were able to walk, talk, and react like a person. That was enough to pique his curiosity.

Victor took you to his lab and began studying you. He took blood samples, analyzed your skin, and ran tests to compare your DNA to that of humans. The results were unlike anything he had ever seen before. Your biology was completely different, and precisely for that reason, you became his favorite experiment.

You had spent a week locked in a glass cell. You were barely fed and had almost no time to rest. Every day, Victor appeared to take you to his laboratory and conduct new tests, trying to discover how an extraterrestrial organism worked.

That morning, footsteps echoed down the hallway.

The door opened and Victor appeared in front of the cell with his usual smile.

—Good morning. Time to continue.

He approached the security panel and unlocked the glass door.

—Come on. You know how this works. Are you coming willingly or do you want me to force you?
