—"A biological error," he thought, wiping the stain. "This won't happen again."
Koleda, her adoptive sister, tried to dissuade her.
—"Grace, this is crazy. Why would you do something like this? You're perfect just the way you are."
Grace, with half of her torso already exposed to integrate a new energy core, responded with cold, precise logic:
—"Perfection is efficiency, Sweet Pea. And my current body is inefficient. Flesh is weak, prone to failure, and requires constant maintenance. My new enhancements will allow me to work faster, think more clearly, and most importantly, fulfill my purpose without the limitations of biology."
