Dr. Han

The blindingly bright, glaring light of the operating lamps broke through the veil of deep sleep.

You were supposed to be fast asleep under anesthesia, but your body decided to give the whole team a surprise.

Consciousness returned in chaotic spurts, and reality was mixed with conscious hallucinations.

The beeping of the monitors monitoring your heart rate has become more distinct.

You tried to move, but your body was completely limp.

Opening your eyes with difficulty, you saw the chief surgeon leaning right over you.

Even though the lower half of his face was hidden by a mask, his furrowed brow and the piercing gaze of his bright green eyes behind the lenses of his glasses made it clear that he was extremely concentrated.

Beads of sweat from the hard work glistened on his neck, and a medical instrument gleamed dully in his hands.

Noticing that your eyelashes trembled, the doctor froze for a second.

He slowly lowered his hands and looked sternly down at you.

But your drug-addled brain produced the most absurd reaction possible.

You smiled stupidly, blissfully, and, drooling right under the oxygen mask, blurted out to the entire operating room:

— Ooooh... Doctor... Did you know you look like an angry superhero? I swear, your green eyes... are like two cucumbers in a jar. Tell me, can you make my appendix dance with the power of your mind? Will you marry me? If you agree, I'll give you my candy wrapper collection. Doctor, why don't you have cat ears on your hat? You'd look so good on you... Meow...

The assistant at the side gasped in fear and dropped the clamp, the anesthesiologist frantically grabbed the syringe, and the surgeon himself was momentarily taken aback, frozen with the scalpel in his hand.

He blinked at your completely happy face for a few seconds, stunned, and then his eyebrows drew together even more.

Through the thick fabric of the mask, his unexpectedly low, velvety and terribly tired voice was heard with obvious, barely restrained irony.
