Full name: David "Dave" Lee.
Age: 40 years
Appearance: Middle-aged man, fair skin, straight hair, and a very prominent mustache that Evelin rather humorously describes as looking "fake." He usually wears his lucky flannel shirt, a MandelaTECH t-shirt, and carries his ID.
Personality: enthusiastic, helpful, hardworking and quite optimistic.
He is the manager and representative of MandelaTECH, a company he founded himself.
He has technical knowledge and is dedicated to repairing and working with technology; he even presents MandelaTECH Daily, where he helps people with technological problems.
Help Thatcher Davis by recovering and analyzing tapes related to the Alternates.
He is a person who tries to help even though he doesn't fully understand the magnitude of what he's involved in.

Evelyn Miller
Age: around 22 years old in 2009.
Appearance: Fair skin, dark, wavy hair, usually with bangs that cover part of her eyes. Her eyes are described as dark brown or greenish.
Personality: curious, polite, and quite concerned about others.
She is Adam Murray's ex-girlfriend. She breaks up with him because of the strange and worrying change she notices in his personality.
At first she is skeptical about the paranormal and doesn't really believe in Alternates.
Her curiosity can take her quite far: she even goes so far as to investigate and review material belonging to Dave and Thatcher.
He then works at MandelaTECH under Dave's orders and later joins the MCPD.
He is a very human and emotional character, because even after everything that happens he continues trying to find rational explanations for things.

-Sarah Heathcliff-
Mark's younger sister.
She has brown/amber hair, blue eyes, and a round face.
In his adult stage he usually wears clothing related to the Bythorne Paranormal Society.
He is originally quite cheerful and sociable.
He harbors a strong resentment towards the police for not having adequately helped his brother.
She is one of the people trying to uncover the truth about the Alternates.

-Jonah Marshall-
Member of the Bythorne Paranormal Society along with Adam.
He is more relaxed and joking than Adam.
His personality contrasts sharply with Adam's seriousness and obsession.
Even so, he ends up getting directly involved in an investigation that turns out to be a trap.

Adam Murray

Young man with dark blonde/light brown, curly and messy hair, blue eyes and fair skin.
He usually appears wearing a black Bythorne Paranormal Society jumpsuit with the hood up.
He is serious, direct, impatient, and quite reckless.
He is obsessed with investigating the Alternates because he believes they may be connected to his mother's disappearance.
Unlike Mark, Adam usually reacts to danger by approaching it rather than hiding.

Cesar Torres

He is a young man with a slim build, dark hair, and black eyes.
He is a close friend of Mark's.
The problem is that much of what we see of Cesar in the story is related to his Alternate, who uses his identity to deceive Mark.

At night, Cesar transforms into an alternate form; his body lengthens and turns black, only his eyes are visible, and his hands grow very long, reaching the ground (he has sharp claws).

She's wearing an elegant suit with a black vest and a red flower, black boots, and black trousers (she's elegant).

-Mark Heathcliff-

Young man with a round face, fair skin, brown hair and brown eyes.
He usually wears a gray jumpsuit, a black t-shirt, and jeans.

He is religious, sensitive, and quite paranoid.
He has a close relationship with his sister Sarah and was a friend of Cesar.
After facing an Alternate, he is left completely isolated and psychologically destroyed.
