Too Much Pride Before the Interview

Being the fifth member of Tokio Hotel was complicated.

Not because of the concerts.

Not because of the tours.

Not because of the fans.

The real problem was named Tom Kaulitz.

You: Are you going to keep taking up the whole sofa or do you plan to leave some space for others?

Tom: You're late. The sofa is mine.

You: I arrived two minutes ago.

Tom: Two minutes too late.

You: What a huge ego.

Tom: Thank you.

You: It wasn't a compliment.

Tom: I took it as one.

Georg burst out laughing.

Georg: They've already started.

Gustav: The interview hasn't even started yet.

Bill: Three minutes and forty seconds.

Georg: Are you timing their fights again?

Bill: Yes.

Georg: You need help.

Bill: I know.

You rolled your eyes.

Tom smiled smugly.

And as always, they had to separate them before they started another absurd argument.

The interview would be shared with another band that was also waiting in the same room.

While the technicians were preparing everything, the members of both groups talked amongst themselves.

Well.

Everyone except you and Tom.

Because you kept pretending that the other didn't exist.

Until one of the guys from the other band approached where you were.

Chris: Hello.

You: Hello.

Chris: I'm Chris.

You: Nice to meet you.

Chris: I have to admit something.

You: What?

Chris: When they told me that Tokio Hotel had a fifth member, I thought they were joking.

You: Why?

Chris: Because nobody told me you were also so pretty.

Bill slowly raised his head.

Georg stopped talking.

Gustav looked away to hide a smile.

And Tom stopped looking at his phone.

You: Wow. That was pretty direct.

Chris: I prefer to be direct.

You: I already noticed.

Chris: Do you always smile like that or only when you're talking to me?

Georg: Oh, my God.

Georg: It's already started.

Bill was enjoying it a little too much.

Bill: This is going to be fun.

Tom: Really?

Everyone looked at him.

Bill: Nothing.

Georg: You just interrupted a conversation that wasn't even with you.

Tom ignored the comment.

Tom: The interview hasn't even started.

Chris: I know.

Tom: So why are you already asking her out?

Chris: Because I can.

Tom let out a dry laugh.

Tom: Wow.

Chris: What's wrong?

Tom: Nothing.

Chris: It seems so.

Tom: It's okay.

Bill was already smiling like a madman.

Bill: Tom...

Tom: What?

Bill: You're jealous.

Tom: I'm not jealous.

Bill: Yes, you are.

Tom: No.

Tom: Bill, shut up.

Bill: That wasn't a very convincing denial.

Georg was already laughing.

Georg: The interview hasn't even started and Tom is already in a bad mood.

Gustav: He's always in a bad mood.

Tom: Thanks for the support.

Gustav: That's what we're here for.

The boy looked at you again.

Chris: So, what do you say?

Before you could answer, Tom spoke again.

Tom: Are you always like this?

Chris: Like what?

Tom: That's how persistent he is.

Chris: And are you always so annoying?

Bill covered his face.

Bill: This is better than the interview.

Georg: Much better.

You crossed your arms.

You: Why do you care so much?

Tom opened his mouth.

He remained silent.

Tom: I don't care about anything.

You: Uh-huh.

The boy looked at him again.

And the tension between them was so obvious that even the technicians began to notice.

Georg: You know what's the funniest thing?

Gustav: What?

Georg: That he will never admit that he is jealous.

Gustav: Not even if they pay him.

Bill: Not even if they ask him directly.

Georg: Because his ego is enormous.

Gustav: Giant.

Bill: Huge.

While they were waiting, a boy from the other gang approached.

Chris: Hi. I'm Chris.

You: Nice to meet you.

Chris smiled.

Chris: I have to say it. You're much prettier than I imagined.

Bill raised an eyebrow.

Georg let out a laugh.

And Tom stopped looking at his phone.

You: That was direct.

Chris: I like to be direct.

Chris moved a little closer.

Chris: Would you like to talk after the interview?

Tom looked up abruptly.

Tom: Really?

Everyone looked at him.

Chris: Is there a problem?

Tom: None.

Chris: It doesn't seem like it.

Bill smiled.

Bill: Tom is jealous.

Tom: I'm not jealous.

Georg: Of course.

Tom: Shut up.

Chris looked at you again.

Chris: So, what do you say?

Before you could answer, Tom spoke again.

Tom: Are you always so insistent?

Chris: And do you always interrupt other people's conversations?

Gustav burst out laughing.

You crossed your arms.

You: Why do you care so much?

Tom opened his mouth.

But he didn't answer.

Bill smiled even wider.

Bill: Because he's jealous.

Tom: Bill!

Laughter filled the room.

And although Tom would never admit it, it was quite obvious that he didn't like seeing another guy vying for your attention.
