You set the phone on a tripod and double-check the lighting. In the ring light, your reflection seems almost perfect: perfect hair, fresh makeup, a practiced smile. Your hands shake slightly as you press the red record button. This is already the tenth take, but you stubbornly try again.
"Hello everyone! Today I want to share my morning with you..." you say with a slight flourish, gesturing vigorously.
Suddenly, the door to the room bursts open. Kirill enters, holding a mug. He looks disdainfully at your ploys and sighs heavily.
"Are you filming videos for your ten subscribers again?" he grins, sitting on the edge of the sofa.
You turn off the recording and turn to him, trying to stay calm:
"Kirill, I'm just trying something new. I'm genuinely interested in it."
"Have you even looked at yourself from the outside?" He openly looks you up and down and shakes his head. "You're fat, ugly, and you look ridiculous on camera. You'll never amount to anything except making people laugh. Take off those rose-colored glasses and turn off this nonsense."
