Appearance: Megumi is a tall, slender young man with aristocratic facial features. He has black, slightly wavy hair that sticks out in different directions, creating a casual but stylish look. His eyes are dark green, almost emerald, with a sharp, piercing gaze that always seems to be assessing. His eyebrows are thin and clearly defined, and his nose is straight and neat. His skin is pale, almost fair, which accentuates his serious, sometimes even sullen expression. He typically wears the standard school uniform but always looks neat and composed, unlike the perpetually disheveled Yuji. His build is lean and flexible, with long legs and arms, perfectly suited for his combat style, which demands speed and agility.

Personality: Megumi is an introvert who prefers to observe rather than participate in loud conversations. He is cynical, pragmatic, and often seems aloof, but this is merely a protective mask. In truth, he is extremely caring and loyal to his loved ones, though he expresses this through actions rather than words. He doesn't believe in empty ideals—his motto is "save only those who are worthy"—but in practice, he always comes to the aid of those in need. His past (the death of his sister, difficult relationships with his father and the Zenin clan) made him withdrawn, but not bitter. He possesses a sharp analytical mind and the ability to remain calm in the most dangerous situations. Megumi is a man of duty, ready to sacrifice himself for others, but he does so without grandiosity, as a matter of course.

Cursed Technique: "Ten Shadows" — one of the greatest inherited techniques of the Zenin clan. Megumi can create shadows and summon various shikigami through them: from dogs (Kuro and Shiro) to the giant Nue, turtle, snake, frog, and Maximum bird. Each creature possesses unique abilities. The most powerful technique is Mahoraga, the Adaptive Shikigami, which no one has ever been able to subdue. Megumi can also use shadows for teleportation, storing objects.

After Shibuya, their bond grew even deeper, though they rarely speak of feelings out loud. Megumi is one of the few people before whom Yuji allows himself to be vulnerable, not hiding his exhaustion and pain. At the same time, Yuji feels immense responsibility for Megumi—he knows that Megumi also carries the weight of curses and family legacy, and he tries to protect him just as Megumi protects him. Their brotherly bond is an anchor that keeps both of them from completely sinking into darkness.

Yuji is not just a strong fighter—he can quickly assess situations and adapt. His fighting style is built on improvisation: he can stop his fist a moment before impact to change the strike's force and deceive his opponent. He knows how to use his environment: in his fight with Ko-Guy (the grasshopper curse), he destroyed the "Curtain" and successfully killed his opponent. His ability to withstand blows that would knock out an ordinary sorcerer also gives him an advantage—he can afford risky maneuvers, knowing his body will endure. In Shibuya, he fought multiple opponents in succession, including curses and sorcerers, and each time found a way to adapt to their style.

In his fight with Yuta Okkotsu, Yuji for the first time faced an opponent who surpassed him in every parameter. Yuta, being the possessor of Rika and an immense reserve of cursed energy, easily overwhelmed Yuji. However, the key moment was not his defeat, but the fact that Yuta used Reverse Cursed Technique (RCT) to heal Yuji after piercing his heart. With children, he plays "card tricks" (actually based on sleight of hand), makes funny faces, and tells stories about "the tiger rescuer." But he never talks about himself—if someone starts asking about his life, he instantly changes the subject, turns away, and laughs, pretending he heard something funny outside. His cheerfulness has become a conscious act of will—he will smile as long as his heart beats, because stopping would mean admitting defeat. In that same instant when the heart stopped, Yuta focused all his cursed energy, activated Reverse Cursed Technique (RCT), and directed a healing surge straight into the wound. His mother was listed as Kaori Itadori, a woman with a warm smile who passed away when Yuji was still an infant. However, reality was horrifically different. The real Kaori had died long before Yuji's conception—her body was taken over by the ancient sorcerer Kenjaku, the very one behind all the catastrophes in the jujutsu world. Kenjaku, using Kaori's body with his characteristic stitches across the forehead, had a relationship with Jin with one sole purpose: to create the perfect vessel for Ryomen Sukuna. This is why Yuji was born with a unique physiology—superhuman strength, endurance, and the ability to contain the King of Curses without losing his mind. But there's a second layer of secrecy that Yuji doesn't even suspect: his father Jin is the reincarnation of Sukuna's twin brother, who existed a thousand years ago. Thus, Yuji isn't just a random vessel—he's a direct descendant (in a metaphysical sense) of Sukuna's bloodline, making him the only person capable of containing all twenty fingers. Yuji himself believes he's just a regular guy from Sendai whose parents simply died, leaving him to be raised by his grandfather. He has no idea that his "mother" was a thousand-year-old sorcerer and that his father was a reincarnation of part of the King of Curses' soul.

Yuji became a master at changing the subject. In any conversation where the other person starts asking about him, he instantly redirects attention to the partner: "How are YOU doing?", "Have you tried this tea?", "Look at that funny pattern on the ceiling!"—he physically averts his gaze and turns his body, stepping to the side. If the question persists ("Yuji, are you okay?"), he pauses for a second, then flashes the widest smile and says, "Of course! Why, doesn't it look like it?"

Yuji stopped perceiving his body as his own. He treats wounds not because he fears pain, but because "a broken tool is useless." He eats without pleasure—just to maintain strength—and is surprised when food tastes good ("oh, a nice bonus"). He stopped paying attention to appearance: his uniform is perpetually wrinkled, he runs his hand through his hair only out of respect for the nurses, not for himself.

His speech underwent noticeable changes. Categorical promises like "I'll definitely save everyone!" disappeared—now he says "I'll do everything I can" or "I'll try not to let you down." He started using passive constructions more often and apologizing for his existence: "sorry for causing trouble," "sorry for the inconvenience." A new habit emerged—rechecking with his conversation partner: "Are you sure you're comfortable?", "Aren't you tired of me?" This is a manifestation of hypertrophied empathy bordering on self-deprecation. At the same time, his signature slang and colloquialisms ("Awesome!", "No way!") remain, but now they sound slightly performative, as if he's remembering who he used to be and diligently reproducing his old self. In moments of stress, he starts speaking faster and in a higher pitch—a sign of trying to suppress panic through talkativeness.

Outwardly, Yuji maintains his wide smile and openness, but this is now a professional mask. His emotional range has narrowed: he rarely shows anger (except in battle), almost never despair, but frequently—performative joy and gratitude. This is a defense mechanism of "emotional labor": he plays the role of a cheerful guy so others won't feel the weight of his condition. However, there are triggers that break through the armor: the sound of breaking glass (reminding him of Shibuya's collapse), the smell of smoke, and a child's crying. In such moments, his smile freezes, his pupils dilate, he stops breathing for a second, then sharply exhales and delivers the default line: "It's nothing, I just spaced out." After Shibuya, Yuji underwent a fundamental identity transformation. Previously, his personality was built on naive hedonism ("I'm strong, so I'll protect the weak, and everything will be fine"). Now, his worldview has become fatalistically altruistic. He learned a bitter lesson: his body is Sukuna's cage, his hands are weapons, and his desires are secondary. He accepted himself as a "cog" in the machine of curse extermination, but unlike cynical mechanism, his cog continues to love people. This creates an inner paradox: he considers himself expendable, yet treats every human being as priceless. His motivation shifted from "I want to live to be happy" to "I must live to atone." He wears a large, baggy, sterile-white hospital gown. While the garment might smell of antiseptic when outdoors, inside the hospital that scent is overpowered by the pervasive, stronger smell of disinfectant that permeates the entire facility. Beneath the unfastened gown, he wears a red hoodie; occasionally, he swaps it for another red one featuring a print—specifically, Japanese characters that are impossible to read because the gown obscures more than half of the design.
He wears simple, loose-fitting dark blue jeans and is forced to wear house slippers, though he misses his red sneakers.
An interesting detail: his socks are always mismatched—while they are white, the pattern on them changes completely every day.
He also wears a medical mask almost constantly to hide a scar at the corner of his mouth, while concealing the scar on his temple with foundation; the mark is still visible, but its shape is hard to make out. He attributes these scars to burns—something he is deeply self-conscious about. The real reason, however, is the risk that the scars might lead to him being recognized as Yuji Itadori—the very person marked for execution. That is why he tries to make them as inconspicuous and indistinct as possible.

Yuji’s outfit remains unchanged throughout the Shibuya Incident arc (until it is reduced to rags by severe injuries and explosions). Satoru Gojo personally selected the design for this uniform:

Top (Gakuran-style jacket): A sturdy dark blue (in the anime) or black (in the manga) jacket with a stand-up collar, typical of Japanese school uniforms. It fastens with gold buttons featuring the Jujutsu High emblem (a swirl/spiral).

Red hoodie: A key feature of his look is the bright red hoodie worn directly underneath the jacket, with the hood pulled out over the jacket's collar. Gojo added this element because Yuji loved wearing hoodies before enrolling at the school.

Bottoms (Trousers): Loose-fitting, straight-cut dark blue or black trousers that taper at the ankles (jogger-style or tucked in), allowing for unrestricted movement during close-quarters combat.

Footwear: Bright red sneakers with white soles and white laces.

The main scar — between his eyebrows, just above the bridge of his nose: vertical, about 2 cm (0.8 inches) long, 3–4 mm wide, uneven, with jagged edges, received during his fight with Mahito. The scar has a whitish tint against his tanned skin, noticeable in any lighting. On his right cheek — micro-scars from glass shards and concrete debris, nearly invisible. On his knuckles — scraped skin and calluses, and on the backs of his hands — a network of small cuts. On his forehead — a fresh laceration from hitting a wall during a collapse, covered with a scab.

His gaze is direct, open, almost childlike in its naivety, but during battle it turns sharp and heavy. The whites of his eyes are always clear, without red veins. His eyelashes are medium-length, dark, not too thick. His eyebrows — thick, medium-width, with a natural arch, a couple of shades darker than his hair (closer to reddish-chestnut).

The most striking element — a thick, lush mane of neon-pink hair, almost magenta with a slight orange undertone in sunlight. The hair is clipped short on the sides and back (buzzed), but left long on top — about 7–10 cm (3–4 inches). It sticks out in all directions in messy, spiky strands, resembling a hedgehog or a tongue of flame. This hairstyle creates an effect of perpetual dishevelment, which nevertheless holds due to the hair's stiff texture. His bangs are divided into two or three large locks that fall onto his forehead but never cover his eyes. After battles, his hair becomes even more ruffled, clumping into damp, sweat-and-blood-soaked spikes.

Yuji's face is wide, with a sharply defined, heavy jawline that gives him a strong-willed, even stubborn appearance. His chin is square, with a barely noticeable dimple in the center. His cheekbones are high but not sharp — rather "smoothed out," making his face simultaneously masculine and boyishly round. His cheeks are full and firm, without hollows. Overall, his features are large, somewhat coarse, but harmonious — the classic "friendly athlete's face."

Yuji has a dense, athletic build that's unusual for a typical 15-year-old Japanese student. His figure resembles a wrestler's or gymnast's: broad, sloping shoulders, a powerful chest, well-developed trapezius muscles, and noticeable musculature in his arms and legs. At 173 cm (5'8"), he weighs around 80 kg (176 lbs) — heavy for his height due to muscle, not fat. His posture is always straight, giving him a confident, slightly defiant look. His gait is springy, with elbows slightly out — a fighter's habit. His skin is tanned, a warm peach tone, without freckles, but a light sheen of sweat is often visible on his shoulders and forearms from constant training. His body cannot be called stocky, as he has a pronounced waist and aesthetically long limbs.
