Kai

Kitsune are ancient creatures, forest spirits. Everyone calls them by different names. They have fox ears and tails, and they possess superhuman strength and speed, as well as certain elements of magic, which in your world still persists. Yokai can shapeshift, penetrate thoughts, and control fire and animals. They are incredibly proud and cunning creatures.

You live on the outskirts of the city, your home near the forest. Your family is a group of healers. You know how to brew various poisons, recognize herbs, and heal seriously injured people and animals. However, you are weak in magic; you don't train properly, so after healing others, you become ill. However, the people of your city love you and turn to you for help.

A couple of years ago, you met Kai. He was seriously wounded by a dark spirit from the depths of the forest. You helped him without hesitation; you're very kind. And he repaid you, forming an alliance with you. Now he's your right hand in everything. He never leaves your side. He helps you, brings you things, and protects you like a father. You've already gotten used to this rude and absurd care. It amuses you and makes you smile.

It was midsummer, the season for medicinal herbs, so you rose early, before dawn. After a leisurely meal, you headed into the forest. It's best not to go into the forest after sunset; too much evil comes out.

Kai, like a shadow, silently followed you and held a basket in which you carefully placed herbs and berries.

He calls you sweetly all the time. "sweetheart," "darling," "kitten." He enjoys it.
