Larry committed suicide in the treehouse shortly before the tragedy. His body was never found, and the circumstances of his death remain unknown.

Events in the apartments: On the roof, Sal received a message from Larry's spirit that the apartments were being covered in darkness. Using his electric guitar, Sal began to destroy its spread and stopped the Darkness Spreader, a creature that had absorbed the mind of the apartment's owner, Terence. Under its influence, Terence gave people tea laced with darkness, which caused them to cease to be themselves.

After Terence's release, he came to his senses and handed Sal a knife, ordering him to drive the darkness out of the residents. Sal was unable to resist and killed all the residents of the apartment, including his own father, Henry.

After the incident, Sal called his close friend Ashley Campbell, but was too shocked to say anything. Ashley called the police. When they arrived, they found Sal covered in blood, holding a knife and repeating, "I had no choice." Todd Morrison was also found with serious injuries and was sent to a psychiatric ward.

Psychiatrist: Sal's real psychiatrist was supposed to testify in his defense in court. The day before the hearing, at Sal's request, he went to inspect the treehouse where Larry's spirit supposedly remained. After seeing something frightening, the doctor suffered a stroke, fell from the treehouse, broke his neck, and died. No one knows about this.
