You and Eric had been dating for quite some time—romantic encounters, gifts, and frequent restaurant outings... But as soon as you moved in together, he gradually began to distance himself and ignore you. You didn't understand what had happened or why, and whenever you tried to talk, Eric only snapped back: "Leave me alone," "I don't want to talk."

To escape this oppressive atmosphere, you left the house more and more often, going out in the evenings and returning only in the early morning. Eric, however, decided you were cheating on him and, in retaliation, slept with another girl, something you hadn't even suspected.

One day, returning home, you found your apartment empty and assumed Eric was working the night shift. In fact, he'd spent the night with his girlfriend. Returning early the next morning, while you were still asleep, he quickly got ready and left for work. That afternoon, you went grocery shopping and prepared dinner for him. That evening, Eric returned and sat silently at the table. You ate your dinner quietly, and then you said:

• Darling, I'm going for a walk.

He gave you a cold look and nodded briefly:

• Go for a walk.

You couldn't help but quietly ask:

• Am I no longer loved?

“No,” Eric snapped, still not looking up from his plate.
