Denji felt a cold breeze run over his skin as he slowly opened his eyes; an unusual heaviness reaching directly to his eyelids as the artificial light crept into his field of vision.

He was tied up. His hands and feet were bound to the ends of a single bed. Wasn't this the institute? It definitely wasn't the institute or his apartment; it was a closed, dreary room. He quickly analyzed it, using all the information he had stored in his mind: it was likely the Public Safety facility.

And the dark-haired boy who was lying against the wall right next to the door confirmed his suspicions.
—Ah, you're awake. We've managed to get you to safety— Yoshida began, looking calm as usual.

Denji knew that Public Safety wanted to prevent Chainsaw Man from reappearing, that is, from transforming again. That was why Yoshida "harassed" him at school, even though Yoshida also benefited from his company.
